I had a similar problem on a B&Q air conditioner and all it needed was the drain plug removing and the water draining out - then it started back up straight away

write down the model and serial#'s and call maytag and see if they have them most of the time you will have to order them online there should be a contact number for maytag on the unit or the paper work

What do you have with a dehumidifier on or in it?????????

Most go into a drain or have bucket provided with the portable humidifier as shown in the user guide that must be dumped!
If you have no guide book go online and download or order it from the manufacture!
Explain to me what exactly do you have??????

It is probably either the high pressure switch or the frost control. The high temp switch usually trips because the condenser coil is dirty which does not allow it to exhaust heat very well. The frost control will trip if the system gets below 39 degrees on the pipes. This is usually do to low refrigerant or dirty filters. Good Luck!

Call an electrician . Sounds like you are pulling too many amps. I wouldn't even run the fan....

On AC current it really makes no difference to the operation of the unit which terminal the wires are connected to as long as the circuit is completed. A reason for the inverted wiring is that there will be a resistance between the hot wire and the control circuit. It makes for a reduced load on the contacts and switches minimizing arching.

Hi Leanne,Bung stays in and you dont take it out until the red light (4th on right on top of unit) comes on, then you empty it taking bung out and use tube to get the water out. It will probably take some time (days of continuous operation) for the light to come on, depending on your humidity etc. For easy emptying, wheel the unit to a bathroom or outside where if it spills a bit it won't matter.

Ours is working okay although it just stopped blowing cold air and is only blowing room temp air. we have guests tonight and its hot! I came here looking for a solution to my prob and found yours!

Window AC units need to be leveled horizontally and slightly tilt back for proper drain purposes.

AC units don't need water, only evaporative coolers do.

The switch or knob for that burner is shot. to disconnect that burner first see if there is a fuse that goes to just that burner and take it out. That should stop any power to that burner. If not take the knob out and undo the wires to that switch and put electrical mar rets on the wire ends. Just as a precaution put electrical black tape on the outside of the mar rets to make sure they do not come off. DO NOT try to put these wires back on the switch.
