Maytag neptune gas dryer front loader 9 years old
Either one of the rollers or the idler pulley is causing the squeak. Most common to go bad in a maytag dryer is the roller on the right, it sits just above the heating element. You need to take the drum out and spin each of the rollers and the idler pulley to determine which one is the problem, and replace it. good luck. Shane

Squeaks
Unfotuneately there can be lots of causes from the belt to a bushing to a dry bearing. If you can get a general fix on the squeak then access the innards with the power off-rotate the drum and chances are you will find your squeak. It is simply a job of listenening then tracking-not the most exciting but if you are somewhat handy with tools-you can save a few bucks. Please tet me know how it goes.
Dryer does not heat up. cleaned exhaust, tried
On the back of your dryer there are two over temp sensors, most times one will go bad for know reason, looking at the wires on the back you will see them going into a small silver cap looking thing this is the sensor , after you unplug this dryer remove the back of this unit, follow the wires till you see the sensor this has two wires on it , remove the wires and check the sensor for continuity . And of coarse inone is found then replace this sensoe it has the part number on it and if i remember corect it was around $4 , remember there are two sensors so look for both , if you dont have a tester then remove the wires and use a small jumper wire in it's place , start the dryer to see if it heating , if it is order the sensor , do not use the dryer with out the sensor , you could get a dryer fire !!! The screws won't stay in
Hi ddyreson...
You are missing a sheet metal clip.
It will clip on the sheet metal with the large hole in it, to convert it from a large hole to a hole that you need to fit the screw...
Look around where you disassembled the dryer, it is somewhere in the area or in the dryer...
You can get replacement metal clips at HomeDepot,Loews,Ace Hardware, etc.
