the solution is so much easy. the problem in short is that there is a conflict with other device on the system. for example, if there is a usb flash drive connected to your pc, just remove it and then try to scan again and everything is going to be alright.

Hold down the "Stop/Reset" button for 5 seconds and it dismissed the first message, but then there was another for a different cartridge, etc. Eventually I got it to work.

It is a very messy job. I did it a while ago on my MX822 but don't remember the actal removal process. Someone suggests using a folded up paper towel and pushing down on it into the pad to absorb the excess ink. The pad is on the far right lower end under where the print head goes when it goes thru a cleaning cycle. check for the usb cable if it working fine then check for the formattor board in your printer most case it will be the problem replace it

Somewhere in your supplied software you'll have Canon Easy-Photoprint.(If not, download it, if it supports your printer) It leaves a small tray of buttons on your screen if set to start with Windows. It's got a CD label button, and on my i9000pro, you don't have any other settings to worry about. You probably thought this was a noddy programme not worth installing, but it has its uses. IF! It does not print the blue >1 have u replaced the cartrage> 2 is it flashing if so get a resetter and reset the cartrage> 3 if not remove all cartrages and remove cartrage head soak in 50% water 50% ammonia over night rinse with clean water shake out excess water "do not ! " rub dry with a towel but pat it dry. If u have a water pick when rinsing out, use it to pressure wash the receiver screens in the head. let head set by a heater vent over night. Might want to speed up drying time by using a hair dryer. Good Luck This has save me many times if printer has not been used and set 4 a long period of time . PS THIS 50/50SOLUTION ALSO WORKES GREAT FOR CLEANING PAINT BRUSHES.
