After removing the power (easist was to shut breaker off), then replaced fuse just inside upper front left cover area by way of 2 white screws on bottom front panel. Clips secure the top into the horizontial lid panel (which you will also have to remove later if fuse keeps blowing) That worked for a coupe weeks as long as the Cycle Selector dial was always pushed in when you opened/closed the washer lid. Then the the problem returned. Only way out was to partially remove the unit from the wall and remove the lid assembly, which was much easier than first thought. Pictures attached. Tools needed are Phillips screwdriver and Nut drivers to remove the horizontial lid/panel from above the washer tub, and below the timer panel/dryer. Didn't need to remove the angled cover below dryer as Washer Door lid assembly is wholly below. Just push the dryer toward the rear, then remove two larger nuts from top left and top right corners. No nuts at rear, just clips that slide in/out. This allows lid cover to be pulled straight out (I had to remove the overflow tube on front right of tub, and one semi-rusted nut-driven screw from the Hot/Cold filler plate which is at the rear of the lid cover. That will make it easier to manipulate the cover and release the 4-pin plastic connector shown in pictures at the left rear corner. Then the entire cover/lid slides out easily as you may have to push the dryer top back to ease it out. Then flip it over and replace the switch and slide the 4 wire connector back under the plastic trip. and reverse the un-install. 4-pin connector is flat-keyed on one side, but it is tight to get to. My OEM part even included a new fuse (19.95 + shipping) Unit is now working fine for last 2 weeks.

I have an older model Maytag washer/dryer 7804 and just recently have experienced the same problem as with the 7806 model. When I turn the selector switch to the minutes to wash, the water will not come into the tub nor will it agitate. However, I can move the selector switch to spin and it will spin out without any water in the tub. Nothing happens when I turn the selector switch to rinse.

OK it may be one of 2 things. I would check the lid switch first. On some maytags the have a lid switch that if it is not working properly it will not let the washer fill. If it will not fill the washer will not wash because the pressure switch did not activate the timer to wash. If the switch checks good you might have a bad timer. If you open the control panel you will find a tech sheet with the wiring diagram. I would follow the fill cycle and check the components. You might also check the water valve to make sure its ok too. But its very rear that both the hot and cold would go at the same time. Good luck!

I have a model lse7806ace maytag stackable washer/dryer unit. Initially, the washer would not do anything. I replaced the lid switch and it then filled and agitated at the same time... but when it went to wash cycle, it continued to fill. Water obviously flew out of my washer. I replaced the pressure switch and fuse. Unfortunately, I have the same problem. I had a company called A&E come out to fix it, and they claimed it was the timer and possibly the pressure switch. They replaced the timer and pressure switch (again) and the same problem is still there. They basically told me they don't know what the problem is and that I need to buy a new washer. I just don't think this should be that difficult to fix. Any ideas? Thank you.

Sounds like water valve is bad.

well i am having about the same problem, but mine won't even fill, the dryer works but the washer won't fill or turn on at all. my husband had it all apart, too the control assembly to parts place and they said that hardly ever goes bad so it is still sitting unusable with no answer or money to spend on it in site.

I just moved into a new house and the previous owners apparently had a coin in their jeans pocket. Now my dryer makes the most IRRITATING rattling noise ever, and I simply just can't take it anymore.
I've tried accessing it through the lint trap area, to no avail.
It's a Maytag Neptune front loading dryer.
I'm about to call in a repairman, but I'd love to avoid spending the money on that if I can help it. It's seriously driving me crazy. Help!!

well, i can get into the machine, not aproblem.. is the coin perhaps trapped inside one or more of the innerr drum viens perhaps??? anyway, ifyou removet he2 screws securing the door, and the 2 screws opposite the hinge, the front "u" shaped front panel will tilt off fowards.. from there theres a few 5/16 screws holding the main top assy to the froma of machine, you can remove them and tilt the top back, giving you acess to the outer drum assembly( and you can removethe drum viens and retreive te hoffending "coins" in htat fasion.. hope this helps.. TURN OFF POWER TO UNIT<< LIVE WIRES!!!!!!!

Wonderful!! Would you mind giving me a "problem solved" rating -- there should be icons on the screen to do that.

I was told the thermal fuse was probably blown. Ordered the part, even have a diagram of the inside of the dryer and where to find and replace fuse. But now I can't figure out how to get the back panel off. Is there some other access point for the thermal fuse that I missed?
Posted by rosatoesa on
pry the top up at the corners and remove attaching screws for the front panel and remove carefully. Now you should be able to see the canister that contains the heat element and the thermal fuse. If your thermal fuse is bad you also need to replace the high limit thermostat switch which is located on the canister itself and check that the heating element is not broken anywhere throughout the coil.

I have a GE washing top load washing machine, and it has filled up, but won't switch to the next cycle. I have attempted the troubleshooting suggestions from the manual, with no luck. Right now, the tub is full, but the machine just won't move to the next cyle, to agitate, rinse or spin. I have tried different settings with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. washing machine fills with water but won't agitate or do anything else
