How do i get to the belt
To get the front of the washer off, First open the top and remove the screws that hold the front on. To open the top, insert a putty knife, or any other thin, flat, stiff object into the crack between the top and front of the machine. About 2" from both ends, there is a spring latch. Slide the putty knife over until you can feel it. Pull the knife out part way and push it in to push the latch toward the back of the machine. You have to undo both latches to open the top. Once you get the first one unlatched, put something like the end of a clothespin or a popsicle stick in the space, so it doesn't relatch.
Maytag Atlantis MAV6451 - The machine buzzed and
does it fill with water?
Does it not do anything after it fills?
If this is the case than it is most definitely the lid switch.
I recently had the exact same problem. Easy fix if you are handy.
Remove back of control panel to access the mounting screws. this will give you hand access to the lid switch. Try manually activating it after letting it fill. Replace switch or repair if able.
Good luck

If your timer has a gray rubber ring on it, the timer is in 4 pieces. Pull the top middle part out. Then there's a white locking piece in the center. Once that's out the other 2 pieces will pull out.
Note: The photo shows the top cover removed. The locking pin is the white center.

Water will not stop filling
It appears that you might have inadvertantly disconnected the pressure switch when you where replacing the main timer control.
You'll need to open up the control panel again to check all connections and take a look at the 4-way pressure switch on the left side of the control panel, when looking at the front of the washer.
Here's a line drawing that you can refer to so you can locate the pressure switch and make sure the connections are firmly pushed onto it.

The pressure switch controls the amount of water that is allowed into the washer for the various wash water levels you select. Without a correctly functioning switch, the water inlet valve will not shut off and will overflow the washer given enough time on the fill portion at the start of the wash cycle.
Be sure to disconnect/unplug the washer from the power outlet before taking apart the control panel and doing any work.
Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
My washer spins fine but will not agitate.
The agitator is fastened to the agitator shaft and its movement is driven either by splines or a simple clutch assembly. The splines are usually plastic or rubber nubs on a cylinder that fits over the agitator shaft. If the nubs wear down, the shaft will not turn properly or it will turn weakly. If the agitator is moving in only one direction, the likely cause is the clutch assembly. The clutch has dogs that depress and pop up with each turn. If those dogs are worn, they will not engage properly and the agitator will turn only in one direction. Another issue that might cause this disruption is the Motor coupler.
Washers with a direct drive motor have a motor coupler instead of a belt. The motor coupler consists of three plastic disks (or tri-stars) with interlocking tabs. Those tabs can wear and break which results in slippage. The slippage causes little or no power to be transferred to the transmission. A worn motor coupling can result in weak or no movement of the agitator and spin basket. Inspecting the motor couplers requires removing the motor, which is fairly easy to do.
Remove the cabinet. Locate the motor. The pump is mounted to one side of the motor. You do not have to remove the hoses from the pump unless they prevent you from moving the pump out of your way. If you must remove the hoses, label where they connect first. To disconnect the hoses, pinch the wire clamps with pliers (or loosen the screw) and slide the clamp farther up the hose. Slide the hose off of the pump port.
There are two clips that secure the pump housing to the motor. Use a screwdriver to pry up the clips and remove the cover. Next, slide off the pump to reveal the motor. Disconnect the wiring harness from the motor, do not pull on the wires themselves. The motor typically is secured with retaining clips and bolts. Remove the bolts and use a screwdriver to pry up the clips (if present). Remove the motor.
Mounted on the shaft of the back of the motor you will find the motor coupler. Separate the three disks and inspect them for damage. If you find cracks or excessive wear, replace the coupler.
**(((If the motor couple is in good condition, replace the agitator components and clutch assembly as well.)))
No cold water, just hot water
Check the water inlet valve. Remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the inlet valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Next, check the solenoids. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid. I will attach a
photo for reference. Sure hope this helps and best wishes.
Dripping Water
Your water hoses actually connect directly to the back of the solenoid valves. If you remove the top of the machine by prying it up with a large screwdriver then tilt it up and out of the way, you will see the valves. They are simple to change. Disconnect the hoses and un-plug the two small spade connectors in the valve bodies you can remove the screw. That's pretty much it. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Your first question I need a little more information. What kind of noise is it? Is it a squeek, or a roar, or like rocks in the tub? The second answer is more than likely a timer problem. This part (Maytag # 22004189) costs around $60 to $75 depending on where you live. Run that part number through eBay for special deals sometimes for those parts. Be sure you find out what that noise is first. If you have a transmission or bearing going bad, that could be a costly repair. Let me know what that noise sounds like, and we'll go from there. Jim
Maytag washer
Hi, Just pull the washer out away from the wall a little. You will need pliers to turn the fittings off. Be carefull when you replace them. The inlet valve is plastic and the threads will strip out very easy. Also notice witch one is hot and witch is cold.
I hope this helps you.

Leaky Maytag
most likely. the tub seal is bad. mine did the same thing. had to replace the seal. part is called a triple lip seal. not hard but not a walk in the park either.
Agitator spins slowly and wont
Hi, Th smell is most likely the belt. If the washer is not draining, the pump could be locked up and this will cause the belt to smell.
The pump is located underneath rear right corner. If you set the drain hose itno abucket and get the water out. you can tip the washer back and see if the pump is froze. I see you posted this premium but I didn't get to it in time cause I was asnwering this.
Hope it helps
