Even if it was your ISO setting, you shouldn't get a countdown of any type. Try shooting a photo at the widest angle, which should be your lowest aperture setting and see if it is any faster, but as I said in your earlier question, it may not be functioning correctly.

Is there a long lens for the Panasonic DMC-F27?
Camera is currently equipped with a Leica 12X zoom lens. I would like to be able to take pcs. from a greater distance than this lens permits. Can you recommend a lens that I can attache to the Panasonic DMC-F27 that will enable me to do so? Thank you!!
I cannot connect camera to pc
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as
Picasa.
Wont retract the lens and says it has an
Either the lens has had a knock or it has sand/ grit in it. it will need to go in for service. if the lens was out, then the problem occurred when someone was using it. they should know what they have done. If it hasn't had a knock then it is probably sand in the mechanism.
To verify sand, hold the camera lens downward over a piece of white A4 paper, tap it on the bottom and see what comes out. I fixed these camera's for 4 years and more than 98 percent of the time they were misaligned lenses due to drop/ knock or sand/grit. Sorry.
DMC-FZ7 software for Macintosh
You don't need any software. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as iPhoto which is already on your Mac.
Internal Flash Problems
There are three possibilities, bulb, high voltage capacitor, and step up transformer. The bulb is the most likely issue.
Panasonic DMC FX8 LCD screen fault
I have the same problem. I opened the camera and its the way it was assembled, the 4 wire flat ribbon cable that connects to the backlite screen not the actual LCD screen is broken where it was folded 90 degree and taped down. It must of got dry and just cracked right on the bend. So we need a new backlite screen not the LCD. Where do we get it? Does it come with the LCD???
