My Maytag neptune electric dryer Model MDE9700AYW
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Error E5 is a thermistor
error which means that the thermistor is either shorted or has gone bad. To
start with check for any clogs, clear the lint screen, then check the vent
system, if everything appears to be fine then you’ll have to replace the
thermistor to resolve this issue. Please do accept the solution if the issue is
resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks

No drain now cant get door to unlock and repair
Try to get water out first then the door may open with power on.there should be a little door or flap at the bottom front of machine to drain water manually, you may also find when you do this that rubbish will come out & machine will start working again & pump its own water out.The pump is probably just blocked & you need to clean it out..You would be surprised how many people dont even know that there is a little compartment down there at the bottom that they are supposed to clean out regularly.

I have a Maytag Neptune
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. To start
with you’ll need to take the dryer apart and check for blower
wheel rubbing on blower housing and/or bad motor bearings. Also, check for a
sticky or frayed belt. Please check this picture for more assistance:

Neptune front loading electric dryer is about 3
It seems your sensor bar is malfunctioning.
Look inside the dryer on the front panel and you will find 2/3 sensor bars.
Open the door and look/feel inside the front panel.
Clean these bars with alcohol and then try another load. If it does not work correctly then, the next 2 steps are 1. replace the sensor bar,2. replace the timer.
Hopefully the alcohol cleaning will correct your problem.

Dryer is runing but not getting hot. What could
First check is to reset the twin breakers for the dryer in the house electrical panel--push off, then on. If the dryer now heats, you are home free. If not, measure the voltage (should be ~230 volts AC) across the two slanted slots in the dryer power socket. If nothing, leave the dryer unplugged and reset the breakers again. Try measuring the voltage again--if still nothing, you have a failed breaker (one is still good) or a broken/loose wire between the breaker and the power socket (contact an electrician to check that out and repair). If you measure the required voltage, then you have a problem within the dryer--usually the heating element is open or the thermostat or high temp safety thermostat is bad. Usually, the drum must be removed to repair the heater. Good luck!

Door locks
1. On a internet search enter your model number
2. Then type your model number in the search engine.
3. Type in owners manual.
4. Finally hit enter. More than likely it will be in pdf file and you will need adobe reader to open it.

Dryer squeaks really loud at start of cycle
ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication, or maybe your belt has slipped off of the idler arm pulley.
If you have a front loading machine,
Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor.
Now is a good time to check the belt to see if it has slipped off of the idler arm pulley and also to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.

It sounds like an object has gotten between the
disconnect from power, and give yourself some room.
remove screws from rear of top and slide top back, then up to remove.
disconnect harness from control panel, etc then remove screws attaching it to frame and set aside.
now you can get to the outer front covers top screws and i believe there are some on the bottom too, but can't be certain from parts blow up photo, may just slip onto a clip.
then the inner drum support will be visible with rollers, seal, etc. and your there.
just watch the metal edges, it is often very sharp from the stamping process that cuts them out.
hope this helps,
best of luck,

HOW TO I GET INSIDE A NEPTUNE DRYER MODEL 9700 TO
Unplug the unit.
Remove the top panel(two bolts in the rear metric 10 or Phillips will work) There are four screws across the top front of the control panel remove those and the panel will swing out and down, move it back and forth while pulling upward it has plastic clips on the bottom that keep it in place.follow the wires from the panel to the control board and unplug them or you can just lay the whole panel on top of the unit.
Open the dryer door and remove the two phillips screws on either side at the bottom of the door opening, then remove the four screws across the top of the panel it will lean out toward you, unplug the door/light switch and lift the front panel off the bottom clips.
You're probably looking for the thermal fuse located in the plastic elbow of the blower housing at the bottom of the unit it will be the round metal disc with a brown or black plastic backing.check your vent going outside and make sure it is completely clear/open doesn't have to be spotless clean but if it gets restricted in any manner it will blow this fuse.
