Makes spueking sound when washing ok when

your break is slipping over time the break makes the metal plate that stops the tub have a smooth groove in it. This is what causing the squeak. The plate could need sanded a little bit to give the break some grip but unfortunately you need a special tool to take off the break. It is pressurized by a spring. If you try to take it off without the tool you could get really hurt. Eventually you will probably have to get it fixed because it wont grip at all then it wont agitate properly. But for now it wont hurt anything to run it if you can ignore the noise

My washer fills with water and then hums and wont

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. If you have a washer that has a weak agitation or no agitation at all, here are some possible solutions. You need to check your belts. Most washers have one or two belts. Check your lid switch. If a lid switch is bad, it can cause the washer to not work properly. Sometimes, they will not work at all. Make sure you check your drive motor. The drive motor controls the spinning, draining, and agitation. Most washers have the reverse motor, meaning the shaft rotates in both directions, clockwise and counterclockwise. It is possible to lose one direction and not the other. Some washers have a clutch that controls the agitation. If it is bad or worn, it may prevent the agitator to work. Most of these washers come from General Electric. You could have a bad motor coupler. They are located on the side of the motor drive inside the washer. It is also possible that you have a bad transmission. Check the agitator itself. You could have a bad spline or two. The splin accompanies the shaft and allows the movement of the agitator. If you rule out all the parts above, you may have an electrical issue or an issue with the control board. It is very important to test each part and make sure it is getting power. If a part is not working and not getting any power, the power loss may be the reason that it doesn't work. You can test the current in the wires with a voltage meter. The water fills up, but during the clean cycle it

The inlet works and the wash begins but the water level sensor must work to shut the water inlet. Does this happen? If so when the motor stops check if the voltage to motor stops. If so the program controller is faulty.
Howeever is there is voltage and motor heats up , then check the capacitor or maybe a weak winding of the motor.

The inner tub moves slightly while the agitator is

This is an indicator that the helical-drive/brake package assembly needs servicing.

At this point in the machine's life, it is best to have the transmission evaluated, snubber pads replaced, and the brake package competently serviced by a Maytag Tech.

This is a complete disassembly process wherein several special tools are required to disassemble and reassemble the machine.

Maytag washer won't spin out

Before you try to take the panel apart to remove the timer you need to check that the electrical connections to the pump are o.k. and whether the pump is getting power when it's time to drain. If you have to replace the timer you need to take the back panel off first.
