Maytag Admiral AAV7000A Questions & Answers
Maytag top load washer #AAV7000AWW will not spin,
You may have an article of laundry caught just under the top rim of the drum, try to feel with your fingers or a long popsicle stick to see if there is any obstruction. If you are certain that there is nothing preventing the drum spinning then it may well be that you have a major repair ahead of you, either boot seal assembly or a transmission problem.

Possible that the motor is not starting up as the starting capacitor to the motor is weak. check if the motor is warm after switching off power. if so it is confirmed. Otherwise it can be due to a belt issue, bearing failure and jamming of the agitator and shaft.check power to the motor during the wash cycle to confirm , if not the control unit is a suspect.
Makes clicking noise while spinning.
well by your statement the first thing i would try and do is change the belt,,i believe
it maybe defective ,,thers a picture of belt and one of how it goes on,,which entails removing the motor good luck...
The tub on my admiral spins out of control hitting
Hello,
The problem i believe with your washer is a snubber ring. What is is and does is a teflon coated coated that fits between the tub support and the base frame ,both the support and frame are metal and during spin the tub has some movement espically during the high speed spin. This snubber fits between those two parts and allows the tub to move and is will slide around on this snubber.when that snubber has ground down to nothing when the tub moves it's not sliding on this snubber but grinding into the base and rocking the entire machine around, vibrating and walking all oveer the place(hehe..i seen one washer that had that snubber bad walk to the corner store and get a sandwich) Replacing that snubber will once again allow the tub to move freely and the snubber will asorb that movement, keeping the base solid and not rocking. To replace that snubber the entire tub asm. must be removed from the washer to replace the snubber

The grinding you hear is from the drain pump. I have replaced around 60 this year alone. There is a insert that works its way down around the pulley on the pump and restricts the pump. The burning rubber is from the belt trying to turn the pump but cannot.
Here is a link to the part you need.
You can gain access to the pump by removing the four screws on the rear bottom left side of the washer.
You will need to remove the belt before you remove the pump.
My washer does not spin
replace the lid safety switch under the lid,by removing the front and top covers after removing and unplugging the control panel then replace the switch and reassemble the unit
Why won't my washer spin dry?
have you checked the lid-safety switch,if this switch is bad(open) all the time it will not let the washer spin, its just as if the lid is open
My admiral washing machine shakes from inside when
Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.
Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.
Replace/repair as necessary.

My maytag washer is throwing off a musty stentch.
There is a soap buildup underneath your agitator. Look for a screw on the outside of your agitator just above the lower large part with the agitatotr blades. Memory is fading but it is either a 5/16 or 1/4 ince socket that will be required to remove the screw. Once the screw is removed simply lift the agitator out then begin cleaning the tub with PLASTIC bladed putty knife. As for the agitator use something like Mr Muscle or Eliminate to clean the botttom and inside of the agitator itself. (any product that will remove soap or calcium buildup) \You can also use those same products to clean what is still on the top face of the inside bottom of your wash tub. Once you finish cleaning simply align the splines on the agitator and re-install the screw. You will NOT damage your machine running it empty. Make sure you run at least a full rinse cycle before washing clothes again as there will be some residue that will need to be washed out of your machine. Once you install the agitator push the tub stiffly in 90 deg quadrants and look at the top of your wash tub cover. Soap build up in that area can also result in an odor. The is something you can do yourself. Good Luck.
I need to replace the pump on my Admiral
Electrically Isolate the machine
To access the pump the front panel needs to be removed, first the machine top needs to be opened,
at the joint between the machine front panel and top insert a flat blade 4" from each side to release the lid catches, tilt back the top to access the internal screws on the front panel and remove the front by lifting off it the bottom brackets.
Ensure the machine is empty of water, to do this lower the waste drain pipe to floor level and clooect any water in a suitable container.
Tilt the machine back 45 degrees and remove the drive belt and bolts for the pump, remove the hoses from the pump, refit in reverse order.
