Panasonic TH-42PX60U Television - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Broken screen.
they are not sold to like this to the general public some new replacement screens need authorization and can only be aquired by service centers. if you want a screen that is for your specific model tv you will need to find a online site that has electronic surplus or for repair tv, like an aution site or a electronic parts store. if you are lucky to find your model tv at auction or being sold "as is for repair" with a good screen you grab it other wise a brand new 42" plasma replacement screen cost upwards in the 1500.$ range.and it isnt sold to the public.
searching online listings is the best choice.
hope this helps

Only right side of screen
If the TV cost to much to repair, would you be willing to sell it for
parts? My front glass screen has got a chip in it. Cant see paying 500
just to have a new one installed.
Thanks

Lost power cord
Should be OK as long as it's capable of carrying the wattage the system is pulling. The TH-42PX60U is rated at 320 watts max - you should be OK as most computer cables are rated well above that. However if you're worried, us the power cord from a laser printer or copy machine - it will definately carry the load.

Has a sonud, but no picture
i posted this exact same problem and some wiz said that i broke the panel. now the warranty is voided and the only way to fix it is to purchase another panel which could cost the same if not more than the original, so your probably better off buying a new hdtv than trying to fix this one.

TV doesn't work
You broke the panel, that is not covered by warranty a panel replacement would cost you the same or more than the cost of the set.

PLASMA T.V.
ten flashes from the light is a problem that needs to be issolated by a tech the 1st board to check is the PA board, and all the boards require authorization from panasonic to replace. that is why a tech must do the repair. if the unit is under warranty they must honor the warranty. extended warranty must honor the agreement you signed or purchased. there are a total of 6 boards that can cause the 10 flashes and can be costly to repair that is why I say when ever buying these types of sets get the extended warranty. these sets are no the sets of old they are not componet level repaired but board level repaired.

Tv wont turn on
have a tech replace the D board 1st if that doesn't solve the problem replace the P board 2nd. both of these boards require authorization to order so an authorized panasonic repair must do this repair.
