Panasonic VIERA TH-65PV500 65 in. Plasma Television - Page 6 Questions & Answers
I have a Panasonic Viera
I agree, this is not a good thing. A brand new TV should not fail 5 weeks into its life. Unfortunately, since the store won't take it back, you're stuck dealing with Panasonic's warranty group.
Having to wait 2 - 3 weeks for a part is crazy - I agree even more. Have you contacted Panasonic Service supervisors / managers and *politely* however firmly, expressed your displeasure with the quality and service you are receiving? Ask for the supervisor's name and to talk with that person. Go as far "up" as you're willing to go, but ultimately, Panasonic must be allowed to solve the problem within the warranty period.
It might be hard to accept this time, but next time - think back on this experience you had with this Panasonic TV. Be sure to tell the supervisors / managers how unhappy you are and that you have friends looking to buy TVs - and they have been asking about what happened to yours. Tell them you'd like to tell them how great Panasonic was with this problem for you - not how a week old TV died and parts were 2- 3 weeks away.
Good luck!
Tv not starting on reg
Generally the 10 light blinks is a power supply that needs repairing or replaced. Take the back off of the tv - check the power supply for bulged or busted caps and replaced them - or get the part number and order one offline to replace yours - do i need to warn you about th evoltages inside the tv that can kill you? also remember always unplug and leave it unplug so everything can discharge before you open it up.
good luck

My TV doesn't recognize my dvd player. The TV is
you shuld check the cable you are connecting. may be there is some fault that is restraining it from recognizing. if the cable is ok check whether the connections made are ok or not. if that too is perfect check for the connecting sockets. check in tv as well as dvd player. change the faulty socket. hope your problem will be solved.
My 42" Viera does not
You have a power supply problem. The plasma is not igniting.
I am sorry that outside of checking a few things, there is no easy fix.
You should hear a distinctive CLICK within a second or two when you press the ON button. That is the power relay. If you do not hear a click, the power supply is not working.
After the CLICK, you should see the screen brighten slightly for a moment. Since your power light turns red, it sounds like the supply is malfunctioning.
If you have had the set for a while, and it is still under warranty return it. If the warranty is expired, repairing may be expensive. Only a technician trained in servicing your set can tell you for certain.
If it is brand new, do not even try and mess with it, exchange it.

Red light flashing indicates that "SC voltage is floating". I'd recommend replacing the SC, SD and SU boards. Also know as the Y sustain (SC), Upper and lower buffer boards (SD, SU).
I suggest you contact your local Panasonic Service Agent as parts are only available from Panasonic and are quite expensive.

There is a loud pounding
As its new, it should still be under warranty. Your first port of call should be the vendor. If you start messing about with it, you may void your warranty.
900 hours and I am seeing some image retention.
In a few words, you can't.
Panasonic Plasma Screens have a movement option that slowly moves the screen around a few milimetres
I the burning is bad and all you can see is Sky TV's frames or Sport frames, the way to reduce the effect, and this is official, is to turn up the screen brightness on a white background. This will burn the rest of the screen to a similar level!
Unbelievable but having done that for a number of hours, when one increases the brightness to compensate for a burnt screen, it is slightly better.
(I do not advocate that, I would not let it burn in the first place.)
Good luck
Hope that helps.
