Our Panasonic Viera tv won't turn on. We have unplugged it over night. It was working fine and then after having the tv for 24 hrs it just shut itself off and when we try to turn it on it comes on with a set up menu and whatever channel the cable is set to and stays on for about a second and then the screen goes black and the power button flashes red. We have tried holding the power button down for a couple of seconds and that doesn't help either. Any other help would be wonderful!!!
same frustrating symptoms on brand new 42inch here! tv just turns itself off sometimes without warning or if changing to certain channels. leaves red light flashing for a while then red light goes away. any attempts with remote gives flashing green liht on tv. manual power off and on restarts tv but auto off again. found while manual power on keep changing channel on remote till stable picture appears. then use remote to shut down tv - solid red light indicates standby mode. then use remote to turn on again... till next time it happens. but what is technical fault??

I am trying to get my Panasonic 42" Plasma to operate through my Panasonic home cinema system. However when accessing the Viera link facility, it does not bring up Home Cinema as an option, only "Others". Any advice please?
Turn everything off and disconnect from mains.
Wait a few minutes.
Disconnect HDMI cable.
Turn on TV and DVD.
Connect cable.
If this does not work use a cable of different spec.
I had the same problem and now mine works .
Good luck.

My 42 inch plasma panasonic viera tv won't turn on. Power light flashes 7 times, then goes off for a few seconds then flashes 7 times again.
hello, you have a either your su, sd or sc boards fualty and it is a driver sos1 thats what the manual reads the best thing to do if your not electronically inclined or able to fix it is to get a service manual and make sure it is for your specific model and size you will find what the 7 blink codes mean, on my side i have a 42 in pana the service manual for this set and your is similar so since it is not the same model i cant tell you exactly what the truoble is but your best bet is to find a service manual find the 7 blink fualt then without getting ripped off you will know what the service man needs to do if you dont know or cant replace the parts yourself that is besides having to download firmware from your computer to a sd card and update your set but you need to solve the blinking code first it may solve the entire issue. the tv should come on when you resolve the blink codes or replace the fualty board or boards

some strange vertical colored lines appear in the middle of my 42'' plasma panasonic viera. They disturb when i watch tv
1.You may have the magnet of a speaker too close to the TV.
2.Turn off other electrical devices in the house one at a time.
3.Faulty cable.
Puzzler.

will hit 32 sometimes
would not recommend. feel the heat coming off the screen when it is running, and take notice of how fast it heats up. Any rapid change in temperature can have a devistating effect on glass. That is a pretty expensive unit to take a chance with especially since the panel cost almost as much as the set to replace.

My Viera 42'' is new , just one week old. Today when i try to turn it on, the red led kept flashing, but no images come on, it all black as if its off . Can you please help me to find a solution ??? cheers Bruno
When the power light blinks the set's protection circuits are causing the unit to shut off and blink. The series of blinks is an SOS signal that a servicer can decode to help diagnose the problem.
For those in areas other than in the US, I can't really say what the issue might be as the SOS patterns may be different for different countries. But, if you can find a service manual for your area you should be able to at least get an idea of what might have happened to it. There's no guarantee that what you read is the actual problem without further testing, however.

tv wouldn't work they day we came home from vacation
not sure what it could be so i called panasonic they said 10 blinks was the worst call an electronic specialist because it was bought at circuit city and have gone out of business
the next evening when i got home it worked
now wont work again
any help
Based on my research 10 blinking lights means the video controller inside your TV has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced.
Even though Circuit City went out of business Panasonic should still support their product through manufacturers warranty.
You can contact them at one of the support #'s below
Consumer Electronics
Plasma & Monitors
I know you may be frustrated with your TV malfunctioning, I had similar issues with my LG. When you call, for prompt and professional service simply give them the model # and explain that the red status light blinks 10 times when you attempt to turn on the TV.
Hope this helps

my panasonic viera plasma TH-42PX80U will not come on. tried plugging tv directly into wall, no go. someone somewhere suggested holding power button down for 10 seconds, did that. no response with remote, dont smell like anything is burnt.
Hi:
You will need to count the number of red led blinks on the power indicator, if it is at least 10 then replace the power supply it is faulty, In my years of servicing panasonic Plasma, power supply failure is about the most common failue in this class of television from this manufacture.
