When I start the washer
Hi,
It sounds like you belt is the problem, if it is glazed or stretched this will happen. The part number is 21352320, below is a link if you wish to order one.
It is located under the unit and goes around all three pulley's. Inspect the motor pulley closely, if melted or damaged you may need to replace that also.

Motor pulley
The pulley is available but when I looked it up it changes to a complete motor, part number for just the pulley is 21001506

Leaking from the bottom wheel that the belt runs
This is the water pump that is leaking if this is where the two hose hook to. have a shop vac ready and towels , when changing this part. If you need the part 1-800-559-1411 can ship you the part.
How do i get the
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
(If these actions have not cured the problem, it could be the control board OR the main motor. Motors will show weaknesses when commanded to spin.)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My washer cannot wash off
Hope this helps. You need to remove the washer to see whether debris blocked drain hoses.there might be clothes metal that blockes the drain hose..Hope this helps.
Water won't shut off on
There may be something blocking the pressure tube which measures the water level. This is a tube which runs from the bottom of the drum up to the water level sensor. Disconnect the tube at the drum and check, also blow in the tube and check the water level sensor is working, it should make a clicking sound.
How to take the motor out
Remove the springs on the motor carriage (this will make it easier) then undo the three 8mm screws holding the carriage on the machine base (1 on the outside and 2 on the shaft side of the carriage).
Then you can remove the carriage without having to remove the motor pulley. The remove the motor from the carriage simply remove the four nuts from underneath the carriage.
Drain leaking onto floor full force
Check the hose from the washer to the sewer drain. A leak here is comon. You may have to remove the washer back panel if you cant see where the leak is.
Good Luck
How to replace timer knob on Maytag PAV 2300 aww,
This is from another site but does a good job of explaining how to change your timer:
http://www.the-appliance-clinic.com/myttimer.html
The hardest part will be swapping the knob because you have to lift the top of it off and sometimes they can be fiesty.
WORDS OF CAUTION.
DO NOT pull all the wires off of the OLD timer. DO a ONE for ONE wire swap. i.e pull one wire from the old timer... and hook it up to the new one on the exact same terminal as the old timer.

Spin cycle is not emptying completely the basin.
Put it in spin (empty) with the lid open and push the lid switch. If you see that it agitates while it is going into spin, that means that the "catch" inside the transmission is broke. The "catch" is supposed to lock the mechanism to the spin basket while in spin. The only thing you can do is replace the transmission or buy a new machine.
Washer does not empty ....it agitates on the firt
Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Check the lid switch. If you remove the back control panel cover you can check it for continuity or jump it out to see if it spins.
