How to fix the optical engine
Usually they cannot be "fixed" but are exchanged and rebuilding takes place in a controlled environment---seen several techs take them apart and end up having to replace the entire unit anyway. Some of these Panasonic sets only sell the chassis and no parts.

PT-52LCX65 Lamp Meter
Hello.. meseta809
first off all it's not necessary to have the TV on to reset it. the problem is the dmd need to send the info that you have a working lamp.
try this to see if it work's
Panasonic TY-LA1000 TV Lamp Reset Procedure/instructions:
Ok,
so apparently there are a couple of different ways forum members have
found out how to reset their Panasonic Lamp timer (this should apply to
all of them, not just the TY-LA1000 specific lamp)
“Hold the VOL down button on the TV and the SPLIT button on the REMOTE for five seconds”
Again,
you will need to press the Volume button on the TV while pressing hte
SPLIT button on the Remote Control for five seconds, it will NOT work
if you try to do it both from your remote!

Call The 1-800# in your manual. They'll fix it even if it's out of warranty. They did mine. It's a design flaw with something called an "Eprom".

hi, To clan the air filter you have to remove the projection unit. You can see the projection unit behind the lamp blast board. There are three air filters in this unit. You have to clean these air filters. I have added the picture which showa the location of air filters. If you can give your email address the i will sent the service manual. Which will help you to remove and clean these Air filters. Remember one thing remove lamp first then only remove the projection unit from the rear side. OK

Does it do that with every channel? If so then it is the controller board of the cable itself. Try a different connection method. Your lamp is fine. Or it could be your y board. Don't know cost for sure seeing that there is no exact solution yet.

I changed the lamp on
Hi,thanks for posting your Question. Issues involving lamp are some times complicated..but it's resolvable..
First when you replace a new lamp, chancing are very slim for it to work properly..When you replace a lamp,if the lamp is not the same as the formal one,it will malfunction and not make the TV function properly..
So you need to be sure that the lamp you replaced is the right one for your TV.
And also when resetting the lamp,if not reset properly, that might affect the TV too..Resetting the lamp has to be done by the manufacturer of the lamp.(pansonic )
You can also check the convergence IC (STK IC),and see if it is OK,and check if there is any leakage from capacitors, might need re soldering.
Take care and Good luck...

Did you hear any pop sound inside tv when it get shut down? that pop sound could be lamp that got broken.
Let me know if you have additional question.

The lamp LED flashing every 5 seconds indicates a ballast(lamp power supply) malfunction. Checking the output(DC) at the pins (from which the two thick wires that go to the lamp) would help you confirm the problem. You must replace the ballast to resolve this issue. Let me know if you wish to do it yourself so that I can find you a replacement.

Hello
Check and replace the main filter capacitor in the power supply section. Replace all of them in the secondary section of the power supply too. The problem is due to insufficant smoothing and regulatio fo the power supply section. If main smoothing capacitor gets value deveoped, it won't supply enough voltage to the switching section, and switching section also will go inefficient. Replace all of them. It won't cost not much. OK.
