You could have a bad optical engine, but first try this tip. Remove the lamp assembly again and make absolutely certain that everything is inserted and seated correctly. If this does not help you may have damaged your optical engine when the lamp quit. They can get very hot before failure and this could have damaged one of the TFT panels. Sounds like the bulb is not firing. I have the 44 inch model. Like it too. It is normal for the power indicator to blink for a minute or two AFTER the set has been turned off from running. get a phillips or panasonic TY-LA1000 bulb or a P22H 120 watt one if you can remove the old one from the housing (not very hard to do).

NOTE: If the "Please Replace Lamp" message is displayed, press [RETURN] or [EXIT] on the remote to remove the message. 1. Turn the unit ON. 2. While pressing the [VOL-] button on the unit, hold down the [SPLIT] button on the remote at the same time for more than 5 seconds. 3. When the reset procedure is completed, the following message is displayed on the screen: "LAMP TIME WAS RESET TO 0".

It is a dead pixel.

try making your screen ratio smaller. sounds like its set to big like a ZOOM .

This tv is a LCD projection it has a red blue and green LCD pannel that the light shines though The green one is bad. Comon problem for these set.

coloue spots on screen. how do you fix with screwdriver?

YES, the TV was telling/warning you that Lamp was going out soon so you would not be without the use of your TV while you get a Lamp.

Turn On tv, press and hold Volume Down button on TV Front and Play/Split button on Remote at same time for six seconds to reset lamp timer.
TV screen will show lamp timer reset display upon successful process.

Usually they cannot be "fixed" but are exchanged and rebuilding takes place in a controlled environment---seen several techs take them apart and end up having to replace the entire unit anyway.Some of these Panasonic sets only sell the chassis and no parts.

first off all it's not necessary to have the TV on to reset it. the problem is the dmd need to send the info that you have a working lamp.

Ok, so apparently there are a couple of different ways forum members have found out how to reset their Panasonic Lamp timer (this should apply to all of them, not just the TY-LA1000 specific lamp)

“Hold the VOL down button on the TV and the SPLIT button on the REMOTE for five seconds”

Again, you will need to press the Volume button on the TV while pressing hte SPLIT button on the Remote Control for five seconds, it will NOT work if you try to do it both from your remote!

DISCONECT THE BATTERY FOR 1 MINUTE AND CONNECT AGAIN.. THAT WILL RESET YOUR VEHICLES COMPUTER...YOUR PROBLEM! NO PROBLEM!

I am attaching the diagram that shows how to remove the screen. Its not very big but I can email the full size diagram if it would help.

I don't have a Panasonic, But the Lamp in My 56" Toshiba is in the Right/Rear Corner, looking at the TV from the Rear.

hi, To clan the air filter you have to remove the projection unit.You can see the projection unit behind the lamp blast board.There are three air filters in this unit. You have to clean these air filters. I have added the picture which showa the location of air filters. If you can give your email address the i will sent the service manual. Which will help you to remove and clean these Air filters. Remember one thing remove lamp first then only remove the projection unit from the rear side. OK

All sets made by Panasonic and others have a label on the back with model number, serial number and date made. The serial number only is used for non technical purposes.If you have a problem be sure to post the model number so I or another expert can give you help.regards, sd tech
