My epson perfection scanner doesn't work since i upgraded my iMac to OSX.10.8

Make sure you have installed the scanner drivers bcos sometimes it only installs printer drivers. I suggest you install the scanner drivers again. Make sure the scanner is turned in first b4 computer.

Will replacing power supply fix my scanner that turns on but wont scan

No 90% of scanners have a usb connector. it would be rare if the connectors fit but data wasn't transferred. Scanner and printer cords these days are fairly universal. The older ones took a book as thick as a oil filter reference book. Part A of the Question asked if pwr supply changes ability to scan.Normally I'd say no but if they've linked in to save room its possible. Still most manufactures separate power distribution with the different boards controlling different functions. Not scanning usually is serious of trouble that it throws a code. almost all digital equipt. throw a code It was one of the benefits aquired by digital.Having I/O input output boards, system boards and control boards are all to isolate jobs the scanner does. There is an image and scan boards also. My point being is that its rare to have the scanner power up but not scan AND it being the same cause; lack of pwer somewhere. My experience has shown it to be a programming issue or a sensor or a "ribbon cable" (very flat and follows the scanner bar) hope this helps a smidge ~~~SC
