HP DeskJet 930c InkJet Printer - Page 8 Questions & Answers
How do i change the black ink cartridge on my HP deskjet 2540 series?
Lift the top section of your printer up by lifting from the front at the seam that separates the top from the lower body. This will expose the insides and you will then see the printer cartridges. The cartridge carriage will also relocate itself when you open the top, to make cartridge replacement easier. To change a cartridge, press downwards on its front top until it dislodges, and then pull it out. To replace the new cartridge, slide it into its open slot in the carriage and then lift it upwards until it clicks into place.
How do I troubleshoot an unresponsive HP LCD monitor?
The easiest thing to do is find another monitor to plug in to determine if it is the monitor or the computer. Just because something has been stored does not mean that something fried the first time you plugged it back in. LCD monitors are notorious for having bad capacitors.
Should I buy printer cartridge or not?
If you do not have a user manual for this printer then download one from this site. It should explain which ink cartridges types to buy and how to replace these. There are only two cartridges but based on the size you can buy different.
HP 662 Black Ink Cartridge (~120 pages);
HP 662 Tri-color Ink Cartridge (~100pages);
HP 662XL Black Ink Cartridge (~360 pages);
HP 662XL Tri-color Ink(~330 pages)

HP deskjet 1056 won't feed paper
I just fixed mine. The paper would feed part way then jam and twist a little off center. When I pulled the paper out there was a crinkle on the bottom edge, left side, about 2 or 3 inches in. I did some looking with the scanner removed a saw a plastic tab like the ones that hold and feed 1 sheet at at time. This tab was located inside a little "box-like" thing on the underside of the printer. I turned the printer over. There are several openings/ holes in the 'box'. You can take a pencil or similar object and slide a flat 'tab' that is inside the 'box'. You will see a small spring in one of the holes. Slide the flat tab toward the spring until it locks in place. My printer now works fine. To me the 'box' mechanism looks suspiciously identical to an analog counter wheel. If it is, then it is counting the pages and then engaging the tab to cause a paper jam so you will buy a new printer. Similar things happen electronically to my HP psc 1210 & my Officejet 5610. They will stop scanning or printing, give "no cartridge" error codes, etc... I unplug them for a few weeks and it's like they are new again. PS, if the printer can't talk to HP it will work longer.
