Honeywell /KAZ HOME ENVIRONME HZ-705 7Fin Oil Radiato Heater Questions & Answers
Need users manual for a Kaz oil heater
I dug up my user's manual just the another night to address a problem I had. If you contact me and still need a copy of it I will scan it and email it to you. It is a good reference on how to run the heater but doesn't say much about troubleshooting problems. To learn about that you have to email Honeywell, which I did, and haven't received a response yet.

Which of the outside wires is the hot
one of the conductors has a rib impressed into the insulation - this is the "identified" conductor and goes on the nickel colored screw of the replacement plug. the other is the "black" or hot and goes to the brass colored screw.
With no colour coded insulation, knowing which wire is hot
Take your old cord out. If you notice there is one side that is a little bigger than the other. Take a meter and measure the continuity from the larger side to the wire end and thats how you can tell which is which. Do the same on your new cord and that will tell you which one to put where. Defective plug Honeywell HZ 680C
just change the plug - get it at a hardware store. if your cord is flat, the center conductor is earth ground, green screw. the ribbed conductor is the neutral (white) and the ribbed conductor is the hot (black)
