Dell Photo 964 All-In-One InkJet Printer - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Print jobs are stuck in the queue I have windows
If you've ever had a print job hang, you're probably familiar with
the Windows Print Spooler window. You get to this window simply by
selecting the relevant printer from the Control Panel's Printers and
Faxes applet (simply Printers in Vista). In the somewhat unusual event
of a printer queue jam, you can go to the Print Spooler and simply
delete the job. Sometimes, though, the system won't let you cut off
print jobs that way: It marks the job "Deleting..." but never quite gets
there, and you end up rebooting. But there's an easier way.
Open a command prompt (go to Start ' Run, then type cmd) and enter the following:
net stop spooler
del c:\windows\system32\spool\printers\*.shd
del c:\windows\system32\spool\printers\*.spl
net start spooler
In Vista you'll need to open an elevated command prompt by right-clicking on cmd.exe and selecting Run as Administrator.
For those of you who remember batch files, use Notepad to save the
four commands above as a batch file. I've named mine Killqueue.bat.
Dell 964 scanner
First do your scan on Dell 964 scanner &printer. Scan to clipborad. You hear it scan but nothing happens on your computer. Go to control panel - scanners and cameras - scan profiles - find the document you have scanned, select it and click edit - click preview - in the left corner you will see in blue "How to scan a picture" click that, it will lead you to Windows Photo Gallery - there click on file and import from scanner of camera - it will scan there and your scanned pics will be in your picture folder :) Took me a while to figure it out :)
You can avoid all this and go directly to Windows Photo Gallery :)

Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached. To reattach the cartridge, turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head. Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report. Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.

Try installing the hardware through Control Panel, Add Hardware, Image Devices - have the disk ready to install when prompted.
My Dell 964 is "frozen".
normally you will need to let the printer know that you have preformed any maintenance on it by clearing the error count after such an error occurs and is fixed it is normally listed under general or service options on the printer menu but you may need to look through the users manual
hope this helps

Follow these steps :
•1
Place your scanned messages in an easy-to-find folder or on your desktop so that you can quickly locate the files to send them.
•2
Launch your e-mail application, such as Yahoo! or Gmail, and create a new message. Enter the recipient's address in the "To:" field and type in your note in the body of the e-mail message.
•3
Click the "attach" link or button in your open message to append the photos and scanned messages to the e-mail. This action causes a box to automatically appear, which allows you to locate and select your desired photos and messages. Once you've selected the file you would like to attach, click a button like "Done" to complete the link between your files and the e-mail. Alternately, some mail applications, such as Mac OSX mail, allow you to click and drag the files to the body of the message to create the attachment. If you need further instruction on creating an attachment, see your e-mail provider's "Help" or "FAQ" page for guidance.

Click the "Send" button in your e-mail message to send your photos and scanned messages. The e-mail may take longer than normal to complete the delivery process, depending on the number and size of the files that you are sending.

Go online to Dell website and look for the driver to download for your model printer. Most of the time when you connect the printer to the computer- the computer already has pre-installed drivers that will automatically recognize the printer.
