Cut off the a/c and run just the fan til the frost is completly gone. Restart and check in 15 minutes. Poor airflow, low refrigerant, or metering device problems are the cause of frozen indoor coils.
Clean the filter at least once a month. These units normally are sealed refrigerant circuits and do not have ports for gauges to add refrigerant- just like your refrigerator. Cars and whole home a/c's do.

Friezes up
When a wall unit freezes up, unbelievable it's usually low on refrigerant. Are the coils totally frozen that is, is the frost all the way up the coils or just half way? Write back and let me know pls.
