I believe error E9 is
No the control panel recognizes the error pre remote signal therefore the remote won't work either. You may need to replace the touch pad.

Our Quietmaster 's cooling works for a while and then doesn't.
Remove the front cover and make sure the temp sensing wire is in place on the front of the evaporator coils. If it has fallen and is touching the evaporator plumbing the unit can preform as you described.
Also check for signs of icing / ice build up on the evaporator coils after the uint has run for a couple of hours. Ice build up will also cause this symptom. IF you do find that the unit is icing up that can be caused by:
1. A very dirty evaporator
2.. A clogged Air filter
3. Contaminated by internal plumbing debris / clogged freon passages
4. A blower Fan motor running to slow.
5. Freon Pressure and return lines touching together usually either on the side of the unit or just behind the center chassis air wall enroute to the compressor.
6. A corroded electronic control board.
As you can see above there are several things that can cause the symptom your described. It cetainly sounds as if you either have an icing problem or a control board problem.
The next time the symptom occurs... place the unit of fan only for at least 30 minutes and then see if you can switch it to cool, and actually have it cool. If it does cool properly after switching to fan only for 30 minutes you most likely have an icing problem.
Thanks for using FixYa.

My AC unit is blowing hot air, what can I do to
Hi,
There can be a couple of things that could be happening...
The first and easiest thing is to check the air filter. Make sure that it is clean... clean it or replace it. Next check the air vents to make sure that they are open and giving you good air flow...
Also check to make sure that you are not icing up on the indoor coil... ice will tell you that you are low on refrigerant. You also could be low and not be icing over, but you would need to have gauges on the unit to check that.
Finally check and clean the outdoor coil...this also can give you problems if the heat is not being removed from the outdoor unit efficiently...
You may also have a unit that is sized in such a way that it hits the balance point at about 85...that means that your heat gain is equal to the capacity of the unit...I often try to size them for about that here in Northern PA. because wqhen seldom get hotter then that and the unit then is much more effective at removeing humidity at lower temperatures...
You can also check out the tips that I have wrote about Air conditioning trouble shooting and maintenance...
Here is one about cleaning the condenser coil and at the bottom of that one are links to others..

The A/C is not blowing cool air
You can tell if freon is needed ,if you feel the coil, near the filter, all over,if it is not getting cold all over after 20 minutes of running, then it needs freon, make sure the coils are not dirty, and stopped up,before checking the evaporator (the one inside near wear the filter goes)
