Tip

Bluetooth Passcode

One of the most commonly asked questions I get is "What is the PIN code for pairing a bluetooth headset?". You are prompted to enter this 4 digit code when you attempt to "pair" (pairing is configuring your headset to your phone or device) your headset. It's real easy, the PIN code is 0000. That's right it's just four zero's, the PIN is the same regardless of brand or model of headset. So if you need the pin, here it is, and I hope this helps.

Hi,

On your bluetooth headset, hold down the power button down until the power light stays lit. This may take 5 seconds or more. Now your bluetooth is in pairing mode.

You will need to enter the settings and tools menu. From within that menu, you need to find either "connections" or "bluetooth" and select. Make sure bluetooth is enabled. There will be an option to add a new device.

Back to the phone, you want to hit "add new device". On certain models of phone you additionally have to select "search for devices". Your phone will recognize any headsets in pairing mode. When it is finished scanning, allow the phone to add your headset. It will ask you for the device pin code.

This pin code will be 0000..

The only difference is that they are different colors. The h505 is black and the h500 is greyYes your phone will work with the H500

The generic PIN (Which is what I'm guessing you need) for most bluetooth devices is either 0000, or 1234. Please try those and see if that solves your problem.

It is almost always 0000 or 1234.

Search eBay.com for

"H270 Ear Hook"
or
"H270 Ear Loop"
or
"H270 Earhook"
or
"H270 Earloop"

Lots of places sell them cheap.

I would consult the user manual for how to do a reset on the device, once you know how to do that delete the pairing profile from the device in your phones bluetooth menu. Then if you have any phone but an Iphone (in which case power cycle it), remove the battery while it is powered on. When the phone boots back up reset the device as per instructions and it should automatically go into pair mode. Then go back to your bluetooth menu, re-search or re-pair. Enter the pin code 0000 if promted if that does not work do 1234. If the issue still persists reset the unit and test it on another model of phone to see if the issue carries across, that will allow you to isolate whether it is the device or the phone that is the problem. If the issue carries across to multiple phones then call Motorola to see if you are still under warranty, their number can be found on their website.

Did you find a solution for this issue? I am experiencing the sam e thing.

Motorola... | Answered on Nov 01, 2010

It is '0000' (four zeros).
Hope it works for you.
I couldn't find a user guide for the H520, but the H500's can be downloaded from this location, whereas the H525's is here.

Hi, to pair the blue tooth device, you can use the default code for pairing the device i guess that will work.. No special code required for blue tooth to work. Just type 0000.and problem solved.

Thanks for using fixya...

You can adjust the volume on both your phone and on the headset itself. The H500 has volume buttons on both sides of the device, one on the "top" and one on the "bottom" of the piece. I am including a manual here for you so you can see it, with a picture and diagram as to where the volume adjustment is.

This is the manual:

Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up, it is extremely important to me. I would be forever grateful if you could do so. If you need more help on this question please just respond to my answer here and I will get right back to you.
