Do you have Voice Mail from your service provider?
It
sounds like perhaps that has "taken over" answering your phone. If that
is the case, you will have to either contact your provider to have it
changed, or double-check that your answering system picks up before your
voice mail does. You can do that by checking and setting the ring
count, which is detailed in the manual.
One way to test to
see if there is voice mail from your provider is to unplug your system
and then call your home number (from your cell phone) and see if the
Voice Mail system picks up. You can also count the number of rings
before this happens so that you can set the appropriate number of rings
on your answering system (this needs to be less than the voice mail
rings).
Also, try o reset the phone by :-
Reset the main controller.
- Unplug the power cord of the main base unit from the wall outlet.
- Wait 20 minutes.
- Reconnect the power.
