Dell OptiPlex GX520n PC Desktop Questions & Answers
How can i set up the printer to this computer?
depending on it's age, it could be a Parallel, a Serial, or a USB printer....You will also need the drivers for it...Note: it is sometimes known as a Zebra printer. HOW you connect it to your PC depends on the connection. WHEN you install the drivers also depends on what connection type it is (USB: do not connect printer until the driver software tells you to, the others are OK to connect first...but NOT while the PC is ON....especially for a serial printer.)UPS used to use those (they may still,) and might have drivers you can use....they wern't for USB when I used them, but they may have now...Tallon41

check in the device manager for network adapters, it may need the drivers installing.right click the my computer icon, select properties, click the hardware tab, then on device manager.under the network adapters your card should be listed, if there is a yellow triangle you will need to reinstall the driver, check the dell website for the drivers.hope this helps
My opliplex gx 520 pc is not working,&3,4,battery light is stay working
Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting. Also just because you see lights at the power button or on the motherboard does not mean the power supply is working ok. It might have enough power to emit the lights but not enough power to start the fans or any of the other components.Make sure you look inside the case at the motherboard to see if any of the capacitors have busted and is spewing corrosion out of them. The capacitors look like little battery towers, but they are not as tall as the AA or AAA batteries.

Hi,
I would like to know few more information on this issue
1. Are you saying that power on light is yellow. Please tell me the light at the back of the tower(CPU) is glowing or not .
2. Are you able to hear the span spinning sound. If you say yes, then check the Monitor light status.
Screen is blank, but the mouse cursor moving
Please let me know if this happens while the system boots or at initial stage of booting.. (Before login Screen appears). If that is the case, then you may have to repair your OS or check for any new hardware added to the system. It wouldnt be a VGA issue as it shows the cursor movin, VGA is working fine. If this is happening after login session, It could be due to explorer.exe being corrupt or some backend process capturing the screen. Try it.. Good luck.
It does not start n displays nothing on the screen

Hello,
Make sure you set the BIOS to boot on the CD rom first. You can set it via the BIOS utility. Usually you press the F5 key and then go to boot options. And then place your CD ROM drive on the 1st boot priority.
Make sure also that your CD installer is working and not from a bad ISO download.
When i turn the pc on it seems like it is over
Hi,
The winding noise can be caused due to three components on the computer. The power supply fan, the Processor fan or the harddrive.
You run the built in diganostics to isolate if the fans are making the noise.
1. Restart your computer
2. Tap on the F12 key a couple of times when you see the Dell logo screen
3. High light boot to utlity partision using your down arrow key
4. Hit enter and select diagnostics
5. In the diagnostics menu select customer test and run the test on the fan.
If the test pass you need physically check , opening the chassis and which fan is making the noise and replace the same.
Thanks for using Fixya

I remove the battery during 15 minutes and nothing
well you are misunderstanding, taking the battery from desktop pc effects only the time of the computer and doesnot change anything, while moving the jumper from one side to other break the bios password. when you replace your jumper wait some seconeds and turn your computer on while the jumper is replaced, it will make some beeps or will ask to reset the password depends each model, then shut the computer off, put the jumper back in the right place and turn on the computer, then you will notice no more bios password. make sure you move the right jumper usually the on close to the battery and for more help google this problem it will show you the pics how to do it.
