Unlock the controls to start dishwasher

If the model number you listed this question under is correct, this model dishwasher has two locking features (both controlled by the same button).

There is a Control Lock which locks all the control buttons, so the dishwasher cannot be started. It is enabled by pressing and holding the lock button for about 3 seconds. To disable, press and hold the lock button until the light goes out. A single beep will be heard when the feature is turned on.

There is also a Keylock feature which locks the drawer shut and disables all the controls so the dishwasher cannot be opened or started. It is enabled by pressing and holding the lock button for about 5 seconds. To disable, press and hold the lock button until the lock light goes out. Two beeps will be heard when the feature is turned on.

Both these functions are safety features that enable the consumer to lock the dishwasher controls to prevent children from inadvertently starting the appliance.

The water sensor is malfunctioning. It believes that there is still water, so the pumps run and the washer will not continue on its cycle. replace the water sensor, or dry it out so it functions properly

Won't drain water and backing up in sink

You have a clogged sink. Do you own a snake? (do not use any "liquid plumber" type cleaners in a kitchen sink as you wash and prepare foods in it).

Water in top drawer

I am not a repairman but have installed several duel drawer dishwashers. Most dishwashers have a check valve preventing backflow. Water under pressure will always follow the path of least resistance and in your case it is going into the upper drawer. Be sure the drain is open and flowing easily under your sink whether that be the disposal or a TEE. It may help if the drain line is elevated as high as it can go under the sink just before it reaches the drain. How often do you use the top drawer? Perhaps run a cycle on the hottest cycle without dishes to attemt to clean or force through any contaminants in the check valve through into the drain. Hope this helps, Ken

Error code says motor problem. does not cycle on

hi! there, Servicing the Water Pump

In most dishwashers, the water pump is located under the lower sprayer arm. This component pumps the water through the dishwasher. The pump has two impellers, top and bottom. These, as well as other components, can become clogged with food or detergent. Here's how to disassemble the pump:

Step 1:
Remove the cap that holds the sprayer arm on.

Step 2: Remove the sprayer arm, the screen, the pump housing, a bolt, the upper impeller, the food disposer blade, a spacer plate, the impeller hood, a flat plate, an O-ring, and the lower impeller. Lay the parts out in order as you disassemble them so that you'll be able to reassemble them properly.

Step 3:
Clean the parts thoroughly with a mild detergent solution. If any parts are worn, replace them with new ones made for the dishwasher.

Step 4: Replace any seals, such as the O-ring or other washers, with new ones.

Step 5:
Reassemble the pump, keeping the parts in order.

now if you want to check if your moter is defective definetely, there is a terminal box were the lead of a motor is connected using multi tester clip attached to two leads setting to R1 the pointer deflected to a certain value be sure tester is on ohmmeter set up and unit was plug off, take reading if you got 40 to 60 ohms quite good, and take other leads same again procedure 60 to 80 still good, but if got higher such as 300 to 500 or the pointer does move you motor is burn. there are three leads mostly use to run motor, running and starting other is common line, other leads is for speed if they have some. 57b2e57.jpg

there the motor assembly there a lot of parts before you can dismatle you motor anyway try it.i would suggst this should be done by qualified tecnicain.doing this take necessary precaution.regards and have a nice day.
