Shure SLX24/58 Wireless Microphone System with SM58 Cartridge Microphone Questions & Answers
Microphone makes a popping sound
Dear friend,
Do you remember if it did that before you have dropped it?
As far as I remember, all mics I have worked with would do the same thing: an unmistakeably loud burst when you turn it on and monitors/PA are outputting.
My suggestion is that you kill the audio output (through channel mixer muting), turn the mic on and then bring the audio back on.
That should avoid unpleasant surprises.
Cheers

Sm 58 dropped and cuts out
Under which circumstances did it fail? Might be due to internal wiring getting loose or a damaged capsule after you have dropped it. Can you take it apart to confirm that?

My wireless shure sm58 microphone works perfect
Try this: Need to find the best frequency to use for your set-up. Which could vary from gig to gig, place to place. These days it's harder and harder to find consistent open frequencies to operate within.
I have an SM58 wireless that has intermitant
I don't know which ring is which, but it's actually:
+audio
Ground
5 volts bias.
The audio coming off the wireless cartridge is unbalanced. Also, it might be the wrong impedance to use as a wired mic.
What are the hazards a sound engineer can get from
Here is some very general info, however for more detailed info, I need more information on what your using it for. Speechs, Play, Vocals, Bands? Inside or Outside venue?
For Vocals you should have no problems with a Wireless Handheld SM58, they work over a large range, however still have a limit. Make sure the receivers are always close enough to the mics to hold a reliable connection.
Wireless Lapel Mics (Clip-on) are more troublesome, as they are generally consenser mics which are more susceptible to feedback. You also need to place them somewhere in range of the person's mouth, whist avoiding placing somewhere where you will get alot of fabric movement whist moving around, or you will hear that very loudly FOH. You also need to deal with body-packs and wires.
Leturn mics are generally easier to deal with than Lapel, however again are Condenser and more feedback prone.
I would reccomend the SM58 where possible, as it is much easier to work with, and you are more likely to get a better sound with less work.

SHURE BLX4R BATTERY LIGHT OFF AND WONT SYNC - HELP!
Hi,
please attempt to factory reset your microphone. Also, some companies only allow certain accessories like a battery to be provided by them or special partner companies. So, please verify with your manufacturer that duracell batteries are allowed to be used within their products.
Thank you.
