This can be caused by a few things. One the heat computer gets hot and flickers. Suggestion: Clean laptop of dust and debree at the internal level. This can be caused also by a video card which got hot and cracked the solder weld on the internal chip. This is a problem for most laptops when they get hot. There is several places that redo the boards for a fair price. There really is nothing you can do about that accept to replace the board or have it soldered over again to seal up any cracks. The way to tell is hold the PC with both hands and slightly bend it back and forth and see if it shorts out clears up or blinks.
