HDMI contains both video, color and audio all in one cable----audio connection with it is not without issues.

The TV/Video button on the original remote for the KDL-26S2000 should let you cycle through the inputs on the TV. This button is at the upper left of the remote. (However, if you have set the system to Skip inputs, you may need to remove the skip option.) There is also a TV/Video button on the front of the TV. It's the second button from the left on the panel (it's just to the right of the menu button). To reset the input list, press Menu and navigate to Settings. Select the Setup sub-menu and then select the Label Video Inputs. Give the input any label other than skip. Some TVs work best if the TV is turned on and set to that input source before you turn on the source device. For additional information and pictures of the menus, see the manual. Please check the connections on the back and hope that you find a loose video connector. If that doesn't fix it then continue onto the source to see if that might have a loose connector.

The next thing to check would be the other inputs using the TV/Video button to see if the video on all of the inputs is dead. That would be what might be called "bad news".

The tuner is bad. Could also be the video process, since the hi-def is decoded there

A scart lead should do the trick.

Unplug the TV for a while and hopefully, that should reset the circuity. If you're using the original remote control, check for the display button and press it. I would also suggest doing a factory reset if your TV has that feature and if the TV allows you to do it after unplugging it.

The front and back pieces are like a clam shell and are compression fit with tabs into one another. You need to use something like a guitar pick or spudger to separate the pieces. Dont use metal objects due to damage that will happen to the plastic .
