Sony bravia kdl40s20l1 lcd goes into standby mode ocassionally
Check the U24 (CPU reset IC) on the "A" board. It may be burned. If you have a DVM (voltmeter) check for 3.3V across SW1 connections near this device. If you don't have 3.3V, U24 is bad. This part is not available from Sony. The TV may work if you just remove U24 from the board. I posted this fix on Agoraquest also, you can read more there (I'm "Roundabout" on that forum). How do you remove base
First remove the back panel from the set. Next look at the bottom and you'll see an aluminum bracket that connects the base to the frame of the set. Remove the four screws, replace the back and you're done.

Help! Where can I find a LCD Inverter Board for my
Hi,
Service manual does not have specific part number for inverter boards as these are considered part of lcd panel. Sony Parts will provide you lcd panel including inverter boards and t-con board already fixed on lcd panel.
However, you need to replace both boards (master and slave) to solve the back light issue.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.
