Make sure you are on the correct A/V input or that you have not properly connected the colored cables "Red, Blue and Green
Also try using an HDMI cable which is simpler and more efficient but they cost around 30 - 40 bucks depending on the length.

See my previous answer and clean for something that might be between the optical lens of this DLP and the mirror or between mirror and screen--anything even something tiny will show in the picture.

Sony KDF-E60A20... | Answered on Nov 05, 2012

its possible something in this DLP is on the lens that projects the picture onto the screen or the mirror (do not touch it) or between the lens and the inside of the screen---anything will if there show up in the picture.

In some cases I have used compressed air to dust these out but carefully.

do you have a cable box? is it a motarola box? is it HD box?
if the answer is yes to all of the above then leave the TV on and shut the power off on the cable box on the front of the box. then hit menu on the front of the box, an intrenal menu will come up. using the curser buttons (up/down) scroll to where it says "close caption : disable" use the curser buttons (left/ right) to highlight the disable the use the up/down curser to the "Enable" position now hit menu again then power to turn it back on.
you see close caption is not encoded thru Y, Pb, Pr cables nor is it thru HDMI and no set has decoding for closed caption thru this connection. so it has to be done thru the box.

Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

Endless blinking of standby LED to Sony TV indicates serial clock-serial data bus has failed. Actually serial clock signal is there OK, but serial data is not. A very skilled work indeed. A thorough checkup should be done. If you are handy, check this site. The site name is "Electro-help". Type in this site name to yahoo search box. Pull up older posts there. Check the speaker. If it is OK, check the voltage at the audio output section. If there is voltage, and still you do not get sound output, repalce the audio output IC. OK.

The first thing i would check would be your lamp. It might be going out. You can get lamps for this at www.interliquidparts.com
