hello the lamp most likely is going bad once the set comes on the lamp light won't come on to tell you it's bad but the amount of times the light blinks in a row tells us whats going on. you need to clean with a vaccume the vent areas on the back cover to make sure the fans can cool it properly (never use canned air our blow any thing into the tv, it could blow dust onto the optics and cause a distortion in your picture-little splotches) just order a sony lamp and put back in the tv, some after market lamps can cause a lamp driver board failure and that will take a tech to fix.thanks.....techman

It seems that problem is originated outside of your TV. Like cable box or sattelite equipment. Try to connect DVD player in good working condition to some input using different cable and compare picture. If you will see absolutely same issue - than your TV can have problem with Optical Block.
The picture on my tv has a green tint to it.
Your blue LCD panel has gasped it's final breathe. Unfortunately, this is not something that can be repaired at a component level in the field. Your TV requires the Optical Block Assembly to be replaced in order to restore it to it's former glory. HOWEVER, due to the part cost and labor fees... you should spend this money on a new TV and put the balance of the unspent money back in to your pocket... this repair would be too costly to pursue. The part is about $1000 with an $1100 core charge. PN: A-1132-204-A
Power led flashes gren three times then red six
I'm having a similar problem on another tv. I don't know about yours specifically, but it has something to do on the board inside, near the power supply. There is a part called a flyback which has about 12 solders, and the fix requires resoldering those leads, and possibly replacing a fuse, a diode, and a capacitor.
Win i turn the tv on the red light comes on and i
Your lamp could be burnt out. The tv will keep retrying to start for a few times then will shut down. remove the lamp and see if it looks burnt. When you replace it you will also have to reset the lamp timer. check your manual to see how to reset.

It sounds like you do not have the red component cable firmly inserted. I had this problem on my first HD TV, when the green component cable popped out when I moved the TV back in place, and the picture was desaturated of any green, causing my wife to remark, "That sure doesn't look like HD..." I reinserted the green component cable, and the picture was excellent. Check those component cables.
My sony lcd model kdf-e60a20, blacks out then
Try this...... Remove the front panel to access the bulb. There are 2 screws on either side of the
tv right behind the screen. You may be able to remove them with just your hands. It will make sense when you see them. Once they are loose the panel will pop off. There are 2 magnets that help hold it on, so just pull gently. In the middle you'll see a another scew that you need to loosen. Slide the bar off, remove the cover and you'll see the black box that holds your bulb. There is an allen screw on the left side that will need to be loosened. Once that is loose, the whole unit slides out. Is the top of the vent screen really dirty? If it is, flip it over and try dusting it off with a soft brush, maybe a tooth brush. Try to keep most of the dust out of the bulb itself though, just be gentle. Pop it back in with the reverse order.......
