Sony KDF-E60A20 60 in. LCD HDTV - Page 8 Questions & Answers
My Sony LCD HDTV, 60
Try this...... Remove the front panel to access the bulb. There are 2 screws on either side of the tv right behind the screen. You may be able to remove them with just your hands. It will make sense when you see them. Once they are loose the panel will pop off. There are 2 magnets that help hold it on, so just pull gently. In the middle you'll see a another scew that you need to loosen. Slide the bar off, remove the cover and you'll see the black box that holds your bulb. There is an allen screw on the left side that will need to be loosened. Once that is loose, the whole unit slides out. Is the top of the vent screen really dirty? If it is, flip it over and try dusting it off with a soft brush, maybe a tooth brush. Try to keep most of the dust out of the bulb itself though, just be gentle. Pop it back in with the reverse order.......
Screen come on and then goes off in afew seconds
So mine was doing it and I was getting ready to replace the bulb. I went to take a look and after I pulled the bulb out, the top vent was clogged with dust. I used a soft brush and gently wiped it away. I think it was just overheating because it wasnt getting proper airflow. Try this and see what happens!

TV does not turn ON
Sounds like a power supply issue. order a new power supply or trouble-shoot the current. Look for any capacitors that are bulged up on the top and not flat.
TOSHIBA HD TV NOT TURNING ON
It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.
Power light keeps bilinking no picture on screen
If an internal problem is detected, the unit shuts down and the standby light blinks a repeated pattern. Count hte blinks as the count will indicate the circuit in which the problem has been detected. A constant blink is yet another problem. Can you please update this with the pattern. Once I have that I should be able to rpovide some more detailed solutions.
Thanks,
Dan

I may be late with this but it souonds once again ike dust in and on the bulb cage. These TV's will turn off by themselves if they over heat. The extra dust(not much) can/will cause the TV to heat up and shutdown for a few seconds to a minute. Depending on the time of year and location of the TV can vary.
Try removing the bulb and cleaning it with compressed air and a micr fiber towel. Of course don't touch the blub itself as the skin oils will cause it to break.
My sony is flashing 6 red flashes
Your Thermal Fuse Blew. We discovered that this has been a problem with Sony TV's. We did buy the part for $4.80 vs $200.00 with a tv repair person. We still are trying to find a diagram to replacement it ourselfves...
No power, but red light blinks six times
your thermal sensor has fail this is on the side of the lamp holder inside the tv the light engine has to be pulled back in order to access it. Something of a job.
