Sony BRAVIA KLV-S40A10 40 in. HD-Ready LCD Television - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Have no picture & picture off & power
most the time when this happens it sounds like you may have a bad inverter board. This board powers the
back light on the lcd panel. This board may be replaceable or the
complete panel may need to be replaced. If the panel must be replaced
you will be buying a new tv. Very expensive part. If the inverter is
available separately then it may be worth repairing. You should
contact a Sony ASC for an estimate or a local repair shop.
However, count the number of time the light flashes b4, it pauses for a brief time and starts flashing again. The # of flashes represent what the service problem could be, but no matter what your looking at replacing a circuit bored, or lamp, or something other major in your tv.
Good Luck
note: you can try reseting your tv, by (unpluging it, after doing so hitting the power button, and leaving it unplugged for about an hour.) probably wont do anything for you but worth a try.
Tv shuts off spontaneously. red power light blinks.
re: sony flat panel lcd tv mod. # klv s 40a10.
No power. When power button is pressed, nothing happens.
The stand-by at the power supply ( cn6201) measures to be 3.47 v. instead of 5 v. However, when I unplug cn6201 (5 pin connector) I can read 5v. at the power supply.
Any suggestions?
Sony Bravia KVL-V40A10 - pixelated lines top and bottom of screen
Are these lines visible regardless of what device (DVD player, cable box) you are watching? If so, then yes, it appears the LCD panel is failing. If you only see the lines watching one device, it could be the cable/wire or the device itself. Now it can also be the related input jacks too so connect the device to another input to be sure.
Closed caption
There are external close caption boxes that you can add to your system. But be aware: many cable boxes do not process the close captioning information "through", forcing you to use the close captioning on the cable box.
Bravia KLV-S40A10 HDMI input
I agree with your solution and you are correct in that you lose very little quality by using component instead of HDMI. there are A/V receivers that transcode HDMI inputs to component; as far as I know that's the only other option
I have a sony bravia kdl-26m4000
Cable boxes have notoriously flaky HDMI outputs. I have seen No pic and no sound with their HDMI outputs as well as a host of other problems. You can try getting the cable box replaced; unfortunately I have seen multiple cable box replacements not fix the problem. The best solution is to leave the component cables connected; you're not losing hardly any resolution/picture quality by using the component instead of the HDMI. Solution #2: switch to a satellite provider. I rarely see HDMI problems with satellite boxes
KLV 40S200A
If you watch how many times the light flashes and then relay that to your local authorized sony repair centre they will tell you what is likely wrong with the TV. Have you unplugged, left for a couple of minutes and re-plugged?
Av1 icon stays on
On the top left hand corner of your remote is a button with the letter i on it and a green query mark beside it. Press it once and the AV1 icon should disappear. Took me ages to find this out, so you're not alone...
Laptop to tv
The resolution setting on your pc must be in the acceptable range for the monitor to handle. Look in your tv owners guide to see the resolution range and make sure your pc is not over that range or it will not work. Good Luck
Color on 40" Sony Bravia LCD/HDTV
Sounds like you may have a problem with the video driver boards? I would call up the store where you bought it and ask for a new set or service on this one. good Luck

Sony Bravia 46 XBR has the input bar stuck at the top of screen.
Unplug the TV for a while and hopefully, that should reset the circuity. If you're using the original remote control, check for the display button and press it.
I would also suggest doing a factory reset if your TV has that feature and if the TV allows you to do it after unplugging it.
I need to remove the back off a Sony Bravia KD-48X81J
The front and back pieces are like a clam shell and are compression fit with tabs into one another. You need to use something like a guitar pick or spudger to separate the pieces. Dont use metal objects due to damage that will happen to the plastic .
