Sharp Aquos LC-40C32U
I have the same model TV that is 18 months old. The repairman wanted $365.00 to replace the inverter and update something on it. From what I have seen online, it is mainly just loose screws on the inverter. I called Sharp and they are paying for the repair on the TV
HDMI connection problem
Your TV doesn't like your laptop I guess.
There should be 2 reset buttons behind your TV.
Press the reset button first.
If that doesn't work, try the system reset button next.
If that doesn't work, you'll have to call 1-800-BE-SHARP to help you with the possible software problem with the TV
Good Luck
Picteru darkens to much
There are two settings within you menu that controls the brightness of what is going on. OPC, and Active contrast. Turn both of those off and you should have some luck.
No picture
I have 3 words for you service, service...oh yea and service. The problem that you are having is some sort of power fluctuation that I have only saw within Sharp units. Give them a call and let them send out a Technician to take care of the issue. Hope you are still in warranty!
New TV won't ''talk to'' old VCR
using the magnovox remote, reprogram the vcr's channels. set it up to use cable not air. when the vcr was unlugged it lost it's channel memory. don't buy new cables, you're getting a picture and sound so that means your rca cables are ok.
No sound
Please try unplugging the TV for two minutes then replugging and turning it back on. Werked fir me!
Screen randomly flashes black
First and foremost you need to change one of two things. Either your video output settings on your xbox 360, or use an hdmi cable as opposed to component cables. Component cables are only designed to output video up to 1080i, not 1080p(big difference). So if you try to run a output signal of 1080p with cables only made to send 1080i, you will have picture issues.
Flashing red light
If the unit does not even turn on, thats a power issue. You need to contact sharp and let them set u up for repair. I hope you still under warranty.
Sharp television and panasonic cinema system with hdmi connection
Ok, here's the deal. You can have sound being putout from hdmi coming from one of those sharp units, but it just depends on how you are connected. If you are using a digital audio output, from the tv, it wont push out the sound the way that it should. You will have to downgrade to using audio composite cables to connect to your external speaker system from the audio ouputs, not the digital audio outputs. Its not designed to push out sound from an hdmi cable. The BEST way to have this setup is to run your sound directly from the cinema to the external audio source(leaving the hdmi cable in the tv).
Volume not loud on my lc19sb25u model
I hate to tell you this the hard way, but, its just the way that this particular model was made. The speakers on those models only output 5 watts if I am not mistaken, possibly 10(which still isnt very loud). The manufactures just made them that way. The only way you are going to get any more sound from them is if you use some sort of external speakers.
Display box keeps popping on and off on screen
Your display box continues to pop up because of the way your optimum box is connected to the back of your television. If you are connected with a coaxial cable from the box to the back of the tv, you will get that display box. The reason you are getting it because of the weak signal coming from your coaxial cable(which is the worst cable to use when connecting ANYTHING to ANY tv, especially a lcd tv). That cable is sending a fluctuating signal and your television is adjusting to that(hence the reason the display box comes up). Use composite cables(typical red, white, and yellow cables) to connect your box to your television and I guarantee your problem will be solved. Make sure you unplug that coaxial connection from your box to the television.
