Tried hooking up my tv to the satellite cable but
I think I see what happened here. Normally you have the tv cable connected to one connector and satellite or others to different connectors. When you want to switch you use your remote or the tv controls to change the source. This will preserve the scanned channels as well. On your remote you should see source or something like that. As you select it it should shows options like antenna, cable aux1 aux2 and so on.
So hook your tv up and rescan your channels. Then hook up the satellite to one of the other inputs. Then use the remote to switch the source. You will never see more than one sateliitel channel at a time and you will have to use the satellite remote to change channels on the satellite box.

I have a W TV
Hello,
The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge.
The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board. You might be lucky it's just a blow fuse. Also a defective transformer can cause your TV not to power on.
All these can be checked on the power supply board.
But more often bad capacitors causes problem on the power supply board. I do not think the power board needs replacement, rather those defective capacitors is causing this issue. Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.
The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)
You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.
What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).
You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a refurbished complete power board to save you some stress.
Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.
If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.
I hope this helps.
Regards.

Light goes blue to orange,
Hello,
There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for blown fuses burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc. you have to this with the help of multimeter to read...
- You can look at the sample of the power supply board, the picture with the soldering side has labeling of what you should have on the output of the power supply, yours may be labeled on the top side of the board, there are high voltage on the board so you must be real careful, if you are not sure, let the professional handle it.
Good luck in solving the problem.....

Within 10-30min the screen colors screw up
This is an easy fix. You must remove the shielding tape on the connector where the main video cable connects to the t-con board. The t-con board is underneath the mainboard chassis. I had to do the same repair on my LTV-32W3 32".

My tv picture went out and started smelling now it
smell? maybe something had burn out inside. or something got to hot.
you can start doing the diagnostic, but let it rest a bit.
then, try it again.
if nothing, you will have to disassemble it and check for fuses in the power card to begin.

Hi, I have a 27 inch LCD flat screen. The TV set
I did a lot of looking around earlier. It might just be the outlet
you're plugged into. Try plugging directly into the wall if you're
plugged into a surge protector.
Also, did you remove all of the tape? I removed even the thicker canvas-like material. So the wires are actually exposed, but it's been working great ever
since.
Good luck! I'll try to keep helping if I can.

My Westinghouse 36 inch TV has picture and sound
Hello, it sounds like your inverter board is goin out on the set, when you change channels if you notice on almost any TV the screen goes dark and the new channel appears, it sounds like you are not getting enough power out of the inverter board to power up the backlight enough to come on. This is why the sound remains because everything else works fine and the sound is connected to the main board.

It pops and shuts off when I first turn it on. It
NEVER operate a set after it makes a loud pop. Only high voltage discharges can make such a sound. It is DANGEROUS to operate a set under those conditions. The chassis could be electrified or it could start a fire. Contact a qualified service technician.
