I don't think this set has a cooling fan but you might try placing a portable fan to the rear of the set to see if it prolongs the time before it shuts down.
Both semiconductors and some types of capacitors that can develop thermal problems and this is something any service center should know.
Restricting air flow with a cover should cause it to shut down sooner and if either a fan or covering it to test for thermal problems more clearly shows the nature of the failure, this will give you a more detailed complaint to pass on to the service center.
You do need to try this before your warranty expires.
When turn on the tv
Hi,
If the TV turns on and then shuts off right away, this is an indication of faulty either y-sustain board or the power supply board. Check the continuity of the fuses on the y-sustain board. If open replace with same current(ampere) rating and then try to power on the unit, let me know if the fuses keeps blowing.
If the fuses are intact measure the supply from the power board if intact or not. Let me know the result to assist you further.
If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to seek for an assistance of a qualified TV Technician to isolate the faulty parts.
Also, check if your unit is under warranty/extended warranty period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Opening the back cover will void the warranty.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

We have a LG Plasma
You can only hope that this is a power supply issue which can be determined by visual inspection. If capacitors in the power supply are bulging it can be repaired reasonably, otherwise, you are probably looking at the y-sustain and z-sustain pcb's. This is a very expensive repair. First, have someone check the power supply for bad capacitors, which you can usually see if they are bulging or domed. Then you can decide to repair or replace the set. A power supply repair should cost 150-250 at a reasonable shop. The other boards replacement would be 450-650 us dollars. I'm just trying to give you my best guess... for free. Good luck, Russmann.
What do the capacitors look like in the LG 60PC1D
please be very careful with capacitors - they can retain their charge long after the power has been switched off and can deliver nasty (even fatal) shocks.
They look like little oil drums and are located on the mother board.
I have a 6 mo
start hunting down your warrenty info before you do anything. If you try to repair own your own you will void it at this point
TV would not turn. Will click on (Light turns
Hi emekaadol,
This is an indication of out-of-regulation in the power supply section. The very
common caused of this fault is the leaky
electrolytic capacitor in
that section. It will drop the supply from normal voltage and
will disable the unit.It needs a little warm-up to make itself stable but the
symptom will get worst. Sometimes it has a bulged/dome at the top but not all, it is better
that you have a capacitor
checker/tester to determine
its condition. Your unit will back to normal again if the leaky capacitor is
isolated.
If you don't have necessary tools
and test instruments, and can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to
look for a professional to troubleshoot the problem. Don't
attempt to work in the power supply if you don't know the safety precaution of handling it, there some stored
electricity enough to hurt you with a little mistake only.
Also check if your unit is under warranty /extended warranty,
avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free. Don't open
the back panel, this will void the warranty.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

61" plasam TV will not turn on
This is one of two problems, Bad capacitors in the power supply or your Y Sustain board has failed, I would go for the first, take the back off your tv and look for swollen or domed shaped capacitors on the power supply, They may also leak a brown liquid like substance.
Replace all that you can see and this should cure the fault.
I have audio but the screen is black on my
Ur tv buffer boards are dead, the X or Z is dead.Could be also both boards are dead too.Yes,this tv should be cover under ur extended warrenty,if it still under in effect, read ur contract years end date.

The time taken to show picture is due to leakage of electrolytic capacitors in the internal power supply of the set,if you are technical person check and replace the capacitors in the secondary stage of power supply,ti will suerly solve the problem.
I have the LG 60PC1D plasma TV. The screen has
This problem is caused by faulty sustain boards(X-sus and Y-sus). This problem is usually triggered by malfunctioning buffer boards. Hence the first thing should be to test the buffer boards to see if they are ok before replacing the sustain boards. Unfortunately they cannot be tested by the end user as these logical boards sometimes require special tools to test. Have them tested by a tech , so that I can help you find replacements to fix it yourself.
