I am trying to copy the DVD I finalized in the Canan DC210 to ano

Simple way if you have two dvd trays in your computer: just pop in the mini-disk in one tray and load a DVD+r, or DVD-r recordable disk in the tray of the DVD burner. Use the burning software that is available on your computer to "copy the disk".Other way:Just popin your mini-dvd into your computer and drag and copy the file folder (video_ts folder)onto your hard drive. Now, use dvd burning software that supports DVD images. I use the free ImgBurn program from: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ImgBurn. (Remember, use "build mode" within ImgBurn to create the "DVD image" that the program will burn to disk.Disregard all the terminology if you don't understand it. ImgBurn is very simple to use. I mention "DVD image" because the conventional type of disk burning (copying documents, photos, etc. on disk) will just create a "data disk" with files on it. Video files burned in this way will play on computers but not on all stand alone DVD players.

Hello

You need to look online for dvd authoring software for VOB files..make sure the disc is finalized in the camcorder first or you risk corrupting your data, but once it's finalized put in computer ...with software as listed about and you can import edit and upload or burn to dvd....this format is not as common so you need special dvd editing software to work with it that's why you haven't been able to get it to work yet

How do i get my footage to the computer for

DVD Capcorders are typically not meant to edit videos on a computer. DVD Camcorders are usually meadfor someone who doesn't have a computer and simply wants to watch their movies on their TV. I don't believe the DC210 has a firewire (IEEE1394) port on it, so that means you will need to "rip" the video from the DVD.

First, Finalize the DVD following the instructions in your manual
Next, place the DVD into your PC. If it plays in your PC, then we know that your computer can read the disk.
Next, download a free application called "HANDBRAKE" available from handbrake.fr
Handbrake will extract the video and audio from the DVD (it will not damage the DVD) and place it on your hard drive in a format that a movie editor can handle. An AVI file will probable work the best.
Follow the instructions in handbrake and let it it chug away. It will probably take an hour or more to finish. Once it is finished you should be able to to import it into your favorite movie editor.

If you get serious about video editing, I would recommend a tape or flash memory camera with a firewire (IEEE1394) port. The quality will be much better

I had the same problem the manual don't tell you

Hi, thanks for coming to FixYa.

Here is how to finalize a disk in your camcorder.
1) Plug in the power adapter, and put in the disk you want to finalize.
2) Press the function button. If your disk was recorded in VR mode, then go to step 3. If not, go to step 4.
3) Scroll right to get to menu.
4) Scroll down to get to Disk Functions.
5) Scroll down again to get to Finalize.
6) Scroll down again to Yes.
7) Press the function button.
8) Wait until it's done, then you can play your disk in a DVD player.

Remember, (very important). Don't touch or bump it while it's finalizing a disk. If you disturb it, you can mess up your disk.
Hope that helps you. Don't forget to rate my solution, and enjoy your videos.

I sent my camera back to the warrenty place Mack

Truthfully when you send your camera away they wont try more than once to fix the camera. Take it to a place where you can see what they're doing and you can describe the problem. Hope that helps.
