Video transfer

you can't do that, you need converting software such as, Adobe Premiere or Pinnacle or something similar that will allow you to download the vob and make your own movie to burn onto a larger dvd.

I have got the disk to unfinalize but I can't

Unless you recorded in VR mode, then you will not be able to delete single video clips. The only option left for you is to "initialize" NOT "unfinalize" the disk, (warning: this will erase your ENTIRE disk). Once you initialize, you will have an empty disk to re-record on. VR mode allows more editing and delete options but DVDs recorded in this mode are not compatible on all dvd players.

Youtube videos

The easiest way is to use a video editing program. Adobe Premiere Elements is a good example - it has a feature to allow you to quickly upload your videos directly to YouTube. You'll be able to make changes to your video before you upload, and also save all the account and quality settings so you don't have to re-enter them every time you want to upload a video.

Canon DC210 camcorder

The DC210 will only work with with Mini DVD -R or -RW. I had the same problem when the BestBuy salesman sold me +RW Mini DVD with the DC210. I went back to the store and got them changed for +RW and I was then able to use the DC210.

Finalizing a disc (when plugged in) on a Canon DC210

I think it is a problem with the camera.
We had one, couldn't finalize, exchanged that, and still the same problem.
Canon NO help whatsoever.
Even the mini disc companies that we purchased, NO help either.
We are returning this camera and going with a hard drive.
We were able to plug the camera to a DVD recorder and copy onto a full size disc.

Suerte.

I NEED TO FINALIZE DISK

You´re just right: Finallizing is a delicate procedure because you never know exactly how long it takes. If there is any interruption, the whole data is lost forever. That´s why finalizing should always be done with the AC-plug. Get it repaired and put this rabbit to court (smile).
Best wishes

Do you have to initialize

You do have to initialize the DVD-R before recording into it and you have to finalize it when it is full (or whenever you wish to) in order to view it on DVD players.

Thanks for using Fixya!

My camcorder will not give

Hi,

Are you using the AC adapter when trying to finalize? You cannot finalize using battery power only.

Link to your manual:

Canon DC210 Manual

(What format discs are you using?)

Instructions for finalizing begin on page 61.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Does it really need to

NO - the camera should have a battery life for at least 2-3hrs for video taking and playback.
It does need to be in it's base to recharge properly , maybe the battery is low and , but , once charged fully you should be able to turn on/off many times.
Try letting the batteries run down very low - and then leave them charging for 7-10 hours. -- Ray
