Blue is a combination of Cyan and Magenta inks. The Cyan ink is more efficient at absorbing light where the Magenta ink is less efficient at absorbing light and better at reflecting light. This causes the combination of these two inks, combined to create blue, to appear to have a purple tint.
To correct this problem, perform the following:

Close all applications.

For Windows XP, click Start, Printers and Faxes or Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes.

Click to highlight HP printer. The printer name will be different depending on the model of HP printer.

For Windows XP and 2000, click File
then choose Printing Preferences.
For Windows NT, click File
then choose Document Defaults.

Click the Options or Color tab
(depending on Windows operating system).

Under the Color
section, select Manual Color.

Click Color Control
bar.
-
Choose No Color correction.
-
Click OK (and Apply
, if available).

Click OK
to close the Printing Preferences
Window.

Also, when loading media into the printer choose Semi-Gloss as the media type and blue will print correctly.

Perform a partial reset by doing the steps below...
- Unplug the power cord from the HP All-in-One.
- Wait for 20 seconds.
- Press and hold # and 3 while plugging in the power cord to the HP All-in-One.
- Release the buttons after the HP All-in-One starts up.
- The HP All-in-One will now be reset to factory defaults.

To correct this issue, please follow the steps below. With the new cartridge inserted, reset the unit to its factory setting.
1. Unplug the power cord from the HP All-in-One.
2. Wait for 20 seconds.
3. Press and hold # and 3 while plugging in the power cord to the HP All-in-One.
4. Release the buttons after the HP All-in-One starts up.
5. The HP All-in-One will now be reset to factory defaults.
