If the LCD panel has been damaged then the tv is a write off, sorry.
Supplying and fitting a new panel will cost more than buying a replacement tv as it's overwhelmingly the single most expensive component. When you buy a new tv you are effectively buying a flat panel at a huge volume discount and all the other parts which make it a tv are thrown in for free.
The tv rental company I work for is the largest such business in the UK and only ever replaces broken panels by cannibalising other tv's which have been returned with other serious and unrepairable faults. In practice the panel is rarely swapped, what usually happens is that the broken screen tv donates its inner workings to a tv with a good panel and outer casing but with serious electronic faults (usually due to liquid damage). The panel only ever gets swapped over if the outer casing to the tv is cosmetically unacceptable.

I have a Samsung LN46C650
I have the same problem. At first the tv would just blink occassionaly and the sound would cut out just like yours. We realized if we turned the tv off then back on, it would be fine. Well, that's not working anymore, and as opposed to a blink, the tv picture is cutting off all together, can't imagine it will do anything but get worse. I called Samsung about another problem I had with the tv, the autofit screen size selectioon was great, however over time, on some channels there got to be a progressivley larger white line at the top of the screen. At first we could adjust the picture up to completely close the line. Now it is too large to cover up. Samsung said, "that's normal."....progressively worse performance?

I have a Samsung S2641D
Hmmm, that's not a good sign at all. And the picture remains solid white? Or is it fuzzy? Try disconnecting all inputs from the TV, unplug the TV and replug it in from the power source itself. Does it still come up pure white? Let me know
Thanks
Tim

It taske up to 15 minutes for the television to
1. Lay the TV Face down on a padded Table and removed all the screws. The tback just Pops off.
2. There is a protective cover over the circuit board. unscrew and pull off.
3. Unhook all of the wire attachments that connect the board to the rest of the TV and unscrew the 6 screws that hold the board down and pull it out.
4. There may be bulging capacitors on the top right or somewhere on the board. You can take the whole board into a repair shop and they can tell you what replacements to buy. (Upgrad to 35v to prevent future problems)
5. De-solder the backs of the bulging capacitors and clipd the leads.
6. Put the new capacitors in their place (watch for the polarity. bend the leads to the side to hold them tight and solder them down.
7. Replace the board.
****WORKING INSIDE A TV IS DANGEROUS DUE TO HIGH VOLTAGE***IF UNSURE, LEAVE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL.
