How can i connect nikon

PictureProject was retired years ago, replaced by Nikon Transfer and Nikon ViewNX. You can download the current versions of all (free) Nikon software from
http://support.nikontech.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Everytime I turn it on

That's a typical message on the L10 if you have either tried too large a capacity of SD card, or if you have used an SDHC car.

The L10 is compatible with SD cards ONLY up to an absolute maximum of 2GB capacity. It is incompatible with the commonly available SDHC cards which start at 4GB capacity.

If you are using the wrong type of card then your fix is to stick to using SD cards, and for the greatest reliability try to keep to a maximum of 1GB, as in common with many similarly specified models the L10 can be a bit fussy about brands when you push it to the 2GB limit.

I hope that my free and speedy answer has been of use, if so please take a moment to rate my reply. If not then instead of rating my answer, please add a comment giving details of exactly which card you have been using and whether you get the same problem with other SD cards and I'll try to provide further assistance.

My memmory card says it

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.
By the way, if you're using a brand new SDHC card, the L10 is indeed an older camera and can only utilize 2GB or less standard SD cards.

My nikon has not flash

Make sure that the batteries in the camera are fully charged. If so, then the flash bulb in your camera may have burned out. Try calling Nikon customer support to find out about buying a replacement flash.

I have downloaded the software

I suggest that you download the free Picasa software from Google and use that to retrieve and manage your photos.

Picasa is a free download from Google and has many cutting-edge features for picture management. I think that you'll like it.
  • Download Picasa from their web site (click here) to your Desktop
  • Once the Picasa file has completed downloading, Open the file and follow the directions displayed.
  • Once you have Picasa installed, connect your Olympus camera. Picasa will recognize that you have connected the camera and ask you how you want to proceed.
  • Have Picasa copy the images from your camera
  • You can then use Picasa to handle the photos from your camera.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I can not delete pictures the memory card is

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

My camer charger is not

The L10 uses standard AA batteries, either disposable or rechargeable. It does not contain any charging circuitry. Connecting the camera to a computer simply drains the batteries faster, as the camera has to expend energy communicating with the computer (even if only to say it has nothing to say). If you want to use rechargeables, you'll have to charge them using a separate battery charger.

Sometimes when I am ready to take a picture I

Yes you have the incorrect setting the 1/15 in red is showing you the shutter speed and if you are hand holding this and composing/shooting using the LCD screen there is no way on this earth you are going to have a sharp image. The F50 (I think this is far beyond the capabilities of this camera) is showing you the aperture F32 might be more realistic but none the less the aperture is closed way down to maximum stop down. Until you understand your camera more I'd suggest switching to the "Auto" mode it's a little camera icon and that way two things will happen. First you will get a picture and second the more you use it the more familiar you will become with it.
Also I hope you purchase a Memory card, your camera takes the SD type, make sure the card lock is in the correct position see diagram and that you format the new card check your manual for formatting instructions. Read your manual and go make some great pictures.

How do i turn on the flash for the nikon coolpix

Click on the top of the dial to the right of the screen (where it shows a flash of light logo). This should allow you to select one of the different flash settings - always on, always off, auto etc. Study the manual about what each of those mean for more details.

Hi I have a Nikon

There is a capacitor dump that you can try.

Remove the batteries, wait 5-10 minutes.
With the batteries out, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds or so.
Put the batteries back in and your camera will start over (re-boot). You will know if it worked if you have to reset the date. But if that lens is really stuck you may be out of luck. The cost to repair it will exceed the cost of a new camera.
