Nikon COOLPIX L10 Digital
Sorry about the inconvenience that you are having.
Did you use it on the beach? Maybe some sand went into the lens mechanism.
Usually, this problem is related to broken gears and it's frequent on nikon L series and Kodak easyshare (
http://josepino.com/?kodak ) .
I don't think there is a cheap solution for that, except banging the camera a little, it may help to get the lenses working again. Anyway, I do not recommend that kind of solution but some people says it works.
Unfortunately, You Nikon is so cheap, it will be better to buy a new one instead of having it fixed.

First put the cord into the computer and then turn your camera on. Now put the cord in the camera and wait. Your pictures should come up! Hope this helps. But now my L10 dosnt work because my brother hit it! :(.

How can i fix broken lens on nikon l10 coolpix
You can obviously try to pull the lens and twist it, I'm assuming you did that, it fixes the issue in 20% of the cases but usually the mechanism is permanently damaged and needs replacement. There is a third party company in new york that carries a parts for small point& shoot digital cameras, :

Coolpx S51 lens error report.
it is a pretty major problem for the Coolpix it seems. The internal
coupling of the zoom lens is somewhat fragile, and a slight tap at the
wrong time can mess up the system. It could have been something as
small as a bump while it was being carried in your pocket. The problem
is that you'll have to pay for repairs on it since technically it's not
a camera error but something that Nikon says happened during usage.
Some
owners seem to have been able to solve the problem with a gentle bump
to the side of the camera, or some gentle twisting on the lens itself.
I don't necessarily recommend that- or, at least I would call Nikon
first and see what they have to say about cost of repairs. Other people
say that once you do get it fixed, put the camera in Playback mode
before you switch it off so that the problem doesn't happen again.
Can i use a digital cam as a web cam?
Yes most likely you can.
You would need to hook it up using the usb cable; but it also may depand on the software that came with the camera. You need to provide the make, model of you camera.
Lens error
I presume this might be a batteries related problem, please check the batteries you have installed, either it has been fully used or dead..
Please try with a brand new Duracell..
Lens error
This seems to happen when something (water, sand, dust)
gets trapped in the lens mechanism.
Has the camera been somewhere filthy before?
The recommended methods include taping on the
bottom of the camera, rapping it on a table,
and pressing hard on the lens.
If the lens moves when you turn the camera on,
try keeping your hand on it so that i
t's forced back into the camera body.
A can of compressed air squirted around the
lens is also a possible fix...
but be super careful with that stuff,
a good hard blow of breath might be safer.
I'm not recommending that you do crazy stuff
to your camera, but if you're careful you may
be able to get it working again without having
to get it serviced.
The LCD screen is cracked. Is it worth replacing.
If you can source a replacement screen then it's usually a straightforward repair, but it's completely uneconomical to do even on a DIY basis.
Your camera sold new for £70 in the UK in 2007, a replacement screen including shipping is going to cost more than you could buy a complete, pristine, working, used L10 for.
