Canon power shot SD 1300
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...
Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them.
I have a Cannon PowerShot
This function isn't provide in this model to all MODE; just the EXIF (
Exchangeable Image File) data contain this information like "internal information file details".
This
function can only be set in Postcard Mode... press Func., scroll down to
the bottom, then across to the mountains with clock icon, then set. Now
press menu, scroll down to date, and set date or date and time, then
menu again; or... push
the FUNC SET button and then scroll down the column on the left of your
viewfinder until you come to the one with the letters M1 M2 M3 S, etc
to the right. Then select the one called Postcard 1600x1200, by
scrolling to the right. Your camera is then in the post card mode. You
can then go to the date stamp in the menu and your camera will not skip
over it any longer.
Hope helps.
Hi i am told that
Hi
There is no cable to replace, you just replace the entire front half of the body of the camera. It's about a $25 part with shipping and I can add it to our website for you.

I have a serious problem
Hello
Thank you for using FIXYA!!!
This
is a suggestion. If you do not feel comfortable trying it, you will need to take
the unit to your nearest service centre. Feel free to let me know if you
need any assistance.
The problem might be that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Screen reads card locked.
take out the memory card look on the left hand side of it and it might say in little letters lock and theres a little thing that moves up and down and then move it the other way to lock or unlock. IF THE SLIDER IS MISSING, put a little piece of tape over the area where the slider should be, this allows the reader to read it again.
Canon Powershot A560. Just
Open your battery door.
See this picture. Notice the little door saying CR1220? Pry it open with your fingernail. The enclosed CR1220 battery is the camera's "watch" battery for time and date. Sounds like it may be "time" for a replacement. Take the battery to your local drugstore to purchase a replacement. Don't know why, but drugstores seem to have this battery at a more reasonable price (~$3) than W-Mart or other retail store (~$7).

Firstly I'm sorry to have to ask this but do you have a memory card inserted?
if so Try Formatting the memory card on your computer go to my computer / computer and right click on your memory card in the drop down menu select format itll ask for file type select FAT (File Allocation Table) and click start
If this does not work try buying a new memory card as yours is probably no good
if this still does not work the card reader on the camera is malfunctioning and should be repaired
How do you erase protected pictures on powershot A
Unprotect the picture first. Press the playback button (the right-pointing triangle), then select the key icon from the menu. Details are in the "Protecting images" section of the manual (page 71 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one from

You probably need to reinstall the camera drivers either from a cd or a download from the manufacture's website.

There is either corrosion on the mainboard of the camera or on the cable for the LCD screen/backlight. Either way nobody will try and repair it for you once they open it and see the corrosion, sorry.
Liquid exposure = death. Solution? Use the viewfinder. Wish I had a better answer.
