My boss' digital camera is not functioning.
Hi there please try this. 1. remove the battery from the camera and then clean the battery connector point inside the camera. make sure that clean then try. After that if you face the same problem then its a problem of your camera power transformer unit. You need to repair it or replace that unit. Thanks.
Memory card
If the card is locked, you could the steps below:
- Turn off camera
- Remove memory card
- Take a look on the switch of the memory card itself
* If it's at the TOP = card is UNLOCKED
* If it's at the BOTTOM = card is LOCKED
- So, you just have to make sure that the switch is at the top
for the memory card to be UNLOCKED
After doing that, you just have to put back the memory card to your camera and turn on the camera. Try to check if this works.
CARD LOCKED IN ES70 SAMSUNG CAMERA
Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
If that doesn't do it, try another card.

My s630 will not connect
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
Can i use samsung s630
Not all camcorders can be used as webcams. Since this is a still camera, I would not expect it to be able to be a web cam either...
Your camera is not a camcorder. It is a still camera that happens to take highly compressed video clips. These files are stored on your camera's memory card and can be transfered using the USB cable. You already know this.
There is nothing in the manual that even hints that it can be a webcam. So I will say it is not possible.
Since you can replace the memory card, with a bigger one, it is difficult to say how long you can record... If you need more video recording time, then just get more video cards. It says that on page 83 of the manual, "recording time : memory capacity dependent"... It will also depend on the quality of the video you select - higher quality uses more of the memory card space and looks OK. Lower quality uses less space, but does not look as good.
Samsung S630 Digital Camera, Card Error and Format Error
you have several options:
1. see in the specification details of your camera what memory card is compatible for camera. for S630 it is SDHC/MMC/SD card (Up to 4GB Guaranteed). see if you're using memory card within this capacity and type. If you're using a different memory card type and capacity, try to use memorycard that is compatible with your camera.
2. try to use memory card to other devcie like cameras, cellphones and other devices and if it still has error problem, your card may be the one defective. use other cards.
3. try to take pictures without using memory card. use only the internal memory of camera. if camera still display this error meassage, camera needs service.
hope these options solve one of your problems. c",)

It may require a firmware upgrade. That will involve going to the Samsung website, following links to support/downloads and checking to see if there's an update for your camera.

I read this about cameras
belonging to the S Series really do have a battery type option that
needs to be set up first for proper power connection.
Recommended batteries are just:
- Alkaline (Non-rechargeable)
- Nickel-metal Hydride (Rechargeable)
Just the proper battery type by:
- Pressing MENU/OK button
- Scroll to the right until you are in SETUP 2
- Keep on scrolling down and look for battery type
- Press the right button to pick up on 2 options like Alkaline and Ni-MH
- Press MENU/OK for changes to be saved
- Keep pressing MENU/OK to get out of the MENU
Once, it's done, camera needs to be turned off for a few seconds so that settings made will be refreshed with the camera.
As you turn camera on, you're now ready to take many pictures. Good luck.
