HP PL4260N
It changes signal source
Simple test: block the sensor for the remote from the tv. If that cures the problem then your remote is defective. If it doesn't then the control processor is unstable and activates commands randomly - hardware defect, it can't be repaired. The only way to fix that is to replace the entire mainboard and that will cost you around $450.
Tv will not turn on
Call encompass parts distribution , ask for a power supply you should try to get cost availability and frequency of call for replacement. It might be better to have a repair shop check for proper voltages in and out to be sure.
My HP PL4260N gets power
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is
working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it
produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by
overheating problems. You'll need to check the power supply board first for any
swollen/bulged capacitors. As power supply board is the hardest working board
in a plasma TV, it develops voltage to supply all components, high current +
high voltage. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise
& know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high
voltages even when switched off. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post
a comment for further assistance.

dwight69,
I just finished repairing my Hp. There is a defect in the YSUS Circuit Board. A refurbished one is $70. and a repair kit is $40 plus shipping
If you are brave enough and know which one to change, go for it: if not get an Authorized Repair person to do it, but be very carefull on what they charge. $70 for the board, and 70 for the work.. 140 plus tax, Anything more than that say NO Thank You
Tv worked fine this afternoon. came home, no
Chances are the buffers are bad. If the TV is under warranty, take it in for service. If it is out of warranty, you may try to order the parts and fix it yourself or take it in for repair. Try unplugging it and leaving it off for a while and then plug it back in and see if you can get the picture to come back on.
Obviously, check all your connections before you do anything. And check your remote and change the AV settings and the input (DVD, AUX1, AUX2, etc). If it still doesn't fix the problem, I'd bet on the buffers.
I have no picture but have power to my hp tv
Hi Deko11
Just repaired my Hp PL4260N.
The Y SUS board can be defective and they cost about 70. plus shipping or a repair kit on Ebay and if you are are replacing the board yourself, it is the board on your left whenthe tv facing down and you are at the bottom of the screeen
My hp flat scren is
Check your fuse. If your fuse is blown check and replace shorted bridge rectifier or shorted output transistors. If it is not blown look for puffed up capacitors with leaky fluid dielectric oozing out them please replace them this will solve your problem
When i turned on the TV today (it worked last
The
problem is with the YSUS board. Also 1 or two fuses (4A) will be blown so you will
need to replace those along with the YPPD-J018C Hybrid IC module that
is under the large heat-sink. I'm an EE in my day job so I have done
this sort of repair from time to time but it can be intimidating unless
you have very good soldering skills and a good solder station such as a
MetCal. You will need a lot of heat to free the pins before prying this
IC up. Failure to do it correctly may lift some of the delicate traces
and the new part will not work! When removing the IC I always add
leaded solder on these lead-free boards because it flows better. Also
adding extra flux and using a Soldapullit Solder Tool works well. You
keep adding the solder and sucking it back up...until the pins are
relatively clean. Removing the IC still took me about 1/2 hr. to get
enough solder sucked up until I finally was able to stick a screwdriver
under it and pry it up. Do this gently, on several places on the IC to
break it loose. On my board Q1 was blown but since there 4 of these same
little semi-conductors, your problem might be Q2, Q3, or Q4? They are
easy to spot because they blow apart catastrophically, there was black
soot around mine. Also, one of the main reason this part failed is
because the white heat sink grease was dry. This means that the
heat-sink was not able to adsorb the heat from the board as well anymore
and then it just got too hot and failed. So use a good high end
thermal grease when you put the new YPPD-J018C part back on the
heatsink. Something with silver in it cost about $6.95 a tube. This
will make the TV last much longer. The YPPD-J018C part should run you
anywhere from $39.95-$49.95 plus shipping. Both Suburban Electronics in
MD. and Rich-Tech have the part. Good luck!

YSUS board-How do I change it?
Put the TV on a table, screen down with a blanket under it. Just remove the back cover to get at the YSUS Board. It's in the left upper corner.
The board looks like this, I removed the Heat-sink to get at the IC under it. But once you remove it you can send it in for repair.

I have pin stripe lines
Hello,
All plasma an LCD ts have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times resetting the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them, but it is very easy to wreck em.
Good luck.

This is somthing where ether your sustain board are effected or your Y board, The issue here is its going to need to be looked at further there is really no way for us to tell you 100 percent witch board is causing thi issue without the back off and running some checks.
Te problem relies in the Y, Sustain boards around $350.00 bucks to have fixed at a shop.
