HP PL5060N 50 in. Plasma HDTV - Page 9 Questions & Answers
I have a HP LC3760N that wont recognize a PS3 HDMI or AV signal
What do you have the ps3 set to output? 720p 1080i etc... There could be some incompatibility there with what mode the tv can handle. Have you tried component? I doubt you would notice a difference if its a 37" tv. If you need further assistance please let me know.
Thank you,

Unknown problem
I would say your battery is fine. What happened is the computer was running off the battery even though it recognized it was plugged in. There is a piece in the power jack that tells the laptop that you are plugged in, but it doesn't necessarily mean the adapter is working. I would have the adapter checked to be sure it's working before I suspected the battery.

When I turn on my
No picture: Make sure
the input source on the display device is set to the proper HDMI
connection being used - especially when your TV or monitor has more
than one HDMI connector. For example, if your TV is connected to a DVD
player using HDMI 2, make sure the DVD player is set to use HDMI in its
menu and make sure that the TV's input source is set to HDMI 2.
No audio: Make sure HDMI
audio is enabled in the source digital device and the audio connection
is plugged into the correct DTV audio out connector.
If you are using a DVI-to-HDMI adapter
you must connect separate audio cables from the device that is sending
the audio and video signal into another device that is capable of
playing audio (this may be the TV or Monitor also used to display video
if the device has speakers and separate audio inputs).
If you are trying to send audio through
HDMI from a PC, make sure any onboard-audio setting in the BIOS is set
to Auto and make sure HDMI audio is selected as the main audio output
in the operating system (for example, Windows Audio Properties in
Control Panel).

If you have forgotten the password for the BIOS, you will need to open the laptop and change the status of a jumper. You may be better off leaving that one up to the pros. If you forgot your windows password, you will need some software. There are a few different kinds out there, but it is imprudent for me to give those links out over the open internet. You may request more information on a private service request.
Good luck,

My default printer changed when I restored my cpu.
Hello: This is no big issue, just click on control panel and click classic view, click on printers, A list of printer devices should be displayed including the one you use, Right click on this printer and click on Set as default, if done right there should be a check mark next to the printer you want to use. Upon restoring your computer windows sets the printer to default drivers but gives all printer options that were there before restore.
Also if your printer is'nt listed then click add printer and have and reinstall your orginal printer drivers. I don't know if you did a fresh system restore or if you did a System restore from windows, either case this should help you.
Need a source for a HP DLP TV, model, md5020n
You may be able to purchase the part through a tv repair shop. They can order it for you. Maybe hp has contracts with the tv shops to sell parts through them only. Some companies do that. Not sure why HP would do that cause they dont sell too many tv's.
Every one looks so much wider
Because your stations you are watching are transmitting at 4:3, regular TV size but now you have widescreen so everything stretches to the widescreen size that is not transmitting that way. Change your TV's settings to display at 4:3 size on those channels that does not correct the ratio automatically.

HP Laptop to TV
You cannot connect VGA OUT to component IN on your TV without using a converter. However, You can connect VGA OUT from your laptop to VGA in on your TV using a VGA cable just as long as your TV has VGA in. You will need to hold the FUNCTION or FN key on your laptop while press the F4 or F10, whichever F key has the picture of the monitor on it. This will switch your laptop from LCD to external display or both.
Only half of picture is viewable on my plasma
The problem is likely to be on the y or z driver boards, or on the buffer boards. To determine which board is the problem unplug the unit and remove the back cover. Turn it back on, let it warm up and feel the temperature of the heat syncs, which are raised aluminum blocks, located on the x and z driver boards which are on the left and right side of the main power supply. The heat syncs running cooler or cold represent the defective board. However the problem can also be on the buffer board which is fed by the board you just tested. If the problem remains after replacing the first board then the buffer board need to be replaced too. Search for a vendor who allows returns when you do. Most charge a small restocking fee. You can also hire a servicer in your area who may be able to offer component level repair.
