if problem persist when opening multiple tabs, your RAM (random access memory) might be failing or is cluttered by a virus or program. If there is not enough memory available, the screen will go crazy or have a hard time coming on. Next you can check your video card if its not an integrated one. You may need to use a cheap used card to make sure that it is not a video card problem.

I have an acer al1716
the video settings on your computer has changed to a setting that the monitor doesn't like! try entering your computer in safe mod and change the setting to a max of 1024x768. however, if your video card has a dual output and you have 2 monitors connected at the same time then this is your problem. make sure that the 17" lcd is monitor 1 and the other monitor #2. one of the monitors is set higher the the 17" lcd and when it is not connected the computer may think this the setting for the 17" lcd and not the other monitor which may be hdmi or 1900x1080 which the 17" cannot read this it is out of range!
