Hi,

Its seems lens got stuck in the barrel due to external shock caused, Try out following steps-

• If motor is running but lens won't retract sometimes lens would slip off with the gear or break off a tooth in the gear when it gets dropped. Try to gently move the lens barrel around with the finger and see if it is moving, but if tooth or gear is broken lens will move once's or twice then it will stuck again.
• You can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.
• You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.
  

Else contact Olympus, your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center .

I've gone through the manual, and i don't think you can. Many simple point and shoot cameras have just one fixed aperture. In the manual, the only thing i found was on page "10. P (Program auto) The camera automatically sets the optimum aperture value and shutter speed for the brightness of the subject."

If it is a raised button try alcohol on a qutip to clean around the button or compressed air in the can. Hope it helps.

Try to dismantle it and fix the shutter yourself before paying for repair.

Connect your camera to PC with Windows XP or Vista via USB, open MyComputer and there should be a camera, which appear as new disk, open it and delete any image you need!

Have you tried to reset the camera to the factory defaults? To do this: have the camera in shooting mode - go to Menu - left arrow to reset - press ok - Highlight Yes and press ok. This will reset the camera to factory settings. See if flash works now.

You could get onto Olympus and tell them you know- 'You said I could take it under water - now it wont work' - They may replace it

The the Manual to ensure a setting has not been cancelled -there is more comprehensive manual on the CD. When you say mut do you mean play back on camera or on computer? If the latter check out the computer sound system.

Question edited for clarity. It sounds like your battery has failed or have you tried two of them? Is there a date on the battery? They don't last forever.
