My IPhone seems to connect to all WIFI spots EXCEPT my own. I always seem to be on the Edge Network while at home. My laptop (Toshiba)has no problem connecting to the wireless network. I am using a Lynksys Wireless-G Broadband Router. How can I repair this problem? I have looked at the Iphone Settings Category... The WI-FI shows (Not Connected), when I reference this icon I am asked to choose a Network. (My network shows a lock icon, whe I select my network I am asked for a password. I enter the password, hit the join icon and I am notified "Unable to join network" I need alot of help here.
Yep, I had the same problem with my iPhone as well (32GB 3GS).
Had the signal NO problem for about a week then POOF it was gone. WTF?
Prowled the boards looking for a solution.
Tried resetting the phone, resetting the Wi-Fi, switching airplane mode on and off, forgetting the network, etc.
HERE'S YOUR SOLUTION :
Go unplug your wireless router's power cord.
Wait 30 seconds.
Plug it back in.
Your iPhone will reconnect, and you'll be back in business.

I want to download my contacts from my Palm Pilot to my Iphone
Just save the contacts as described above "Bring up Palm Desktop. Make sure your Palm phone is
sync'ed up. Show the Address page, select all contacts
(Ctrl-A), and export them with File, Export vCard...
This puts all contact information into a single file as a sequence
of vCards."
Then send the file you saved as an e-mail attachment - using any mail (i.e. gmail, yahoo, outlook, etc) - to your i-phone e-mail. Open this email on the i-phone and push the attachement - it then asked you if you want to add these, click (push?) yes, and select eithr merge or new and voila you got them.

hey - first of all, thanks so much for any help you can provide. here's my Q. when i used to transfer music from my itunes to my regular ipod, i would just highlight the tracks from my music library and manually drag them into the "music" folder within my ipod folder. but why cant i do that with my iphone? the music library in my iphone, when it's plugged in to itunes, cannot be manipulated at all. but this is not what happens with my ipod. am i doing something wrong, or is this some difference between ipod and iphone? THANKS!!!!
This is easy:
On the summary page of your iphone on itune there are three options in the bottom third of the screen just above your capacity summary.
Make sure the button "Manually manage music and videos" is checked and you can drag and drop.

My Iphone touch screen has stopped working and I am unable to calibrate touch screen - it just won't work. Whenever I select pen calibration and it takes me to the screen to perform function, when I click the screen with stylus nothing happens-it remains at that screen.
Solution i tried on Unlocked 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 versions. Just follow the steps they have been explained really easy way. Dont think this is too hard. Just follow them it will work:
1) download WinSCP on your PC (google it) and run the application
2) download new general.plist file on laptop
3) download OpenSSH on your iphone (its not show on iphone but its there so dont worry)
4) connect the laptop and iphone through the same wireless network and both will have separate ipaddress.
5) write the ipaddress from the iphone (Settings>Wifi>network details to which you are connected to shows you the ipaddress)
6) Goto laptop on WinSCP type the ipaddress of the iphone in host name field and username:root and password: alpine and then hit Login.
7) it will open like an explorer view of your iphone files on laptop then click on root left side. Click Applications> preferences> replace the general.plist file with the one you downloaded. Done the major part.
8) unplug iphone click Settings> General>Touch and reduce the senstivity to 0. 0 gives you the highest touch sensitivity.
9) Now be happy it works....

Hi,
iPhone 4Gb freezes after I downloaded a bunch of sw using the installer.
Home or Reset buttons trick does not work.
It does not get recognized by iBricker nor iTunes.
Any direction?
Thanks,
Juan
My iphone froze up today, it just gave me a half lit screen and I couldn't even turn it off, nothing would work. I held the home button and power off button at the same time for several seconds and this seemed to make it worse. I did the same thing again, and it restarted the phone. Nothing lost except for 3/4 of the battery life for some strange reason. All is good, my phone is back!

I have upgraded the firmware from 1.1.4 to 2.0.1 in itunes and the iphone got locked.but now while I try to dongrade to 1.1.4 I am getting the error (1603,1601,20(in restore mode).pls help............................................................
I found a solution!
It worked for me and many others (who posted their gratitude on the original post).
Below are the instructions you have to follow. If you have disconnected your phone or shut your iTunes, don't worry. I did it. I even reinstalled iTunes a few times and shut down the computer as well.
Here it goes:
"The way to get over the 16xx errors while restoring on any firmware is this:
Once you get the error DONT DISCONNECT IPHONE OR CLOSE ITUNES. Which leaves us with only one option, rESTART Iphone. STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR VERSION 2.0.1:
1). You get the error. (Ofcourse)
2). DONT TURN OFF ITUNES. DONT DISCONNECT IPHONE CABLE.
3). If the phone is still on, reboot/restart the phone. If its off then kick it out of DFU mode which is explained in the NEXT step.
4). Press and hold the power and home button for some time to kick the phone out of DFU mode.
5). Itunes will detect it again.
6). Now try to simple-restore it, that is click on the restore button on itunes while pressing the shift button of your keyboard. YOU WILL GET THE 16XX ERROR AGAIN IN 5 MINS !!!! but dont worry, everything is under control.
7). now your iPhone will have the picture of the iPhone cable on its screen. good.
(DONT TURN OFF ITUNES. DONT DISCONNECT IPHONE CABLE.)
8). NOW put the iPhone it in DFU mode. How? Firstly turn the phone off (it might try to start up on its own again but turn it off again). Once its off, Press and hold the power and home button for 10 seconds, then release the power button but keep the home button pressed for another 10-20 seconds till itunes recognizes your phone.
9). NOW restore the phone by selecting the pawned custom firmware that you created and you will NOT get the 16xx error.
ENJOY."
I got this solution from here:

Hope it works for all of you.
Cheers!
