Problem transferring photos to the PC
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa (

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
Looks like an obvious faulty usb cable. If the usb cable is faulty it won't send data to the pc nor pc to camera. I strongly suggest that you replace the usb cable to resolve the problem.
One more thing... before replacing the usb cable please try to insert the usb cable on a different usb port. If it still does nothing then it's really the usb cable.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Hi there i didn't find any reason of damaged your camera by the scanner. Because these days every time we scanned our laptop, mobiles. cameras, etc in airport. But any way you do one thing removed the battery & memory card from the camera. after that put back the charged camera inside but not memory card. Now on the camera. If you face the same problem then i am sure your camera processor in circuit board is damaged. So i suggest you please visit Samsung service center. Hi Aasha,
To unlock an SD card, you should locate a small tab on the side of the card. Be careful when reinserting the card to make sure you do not lock the card again.
Thank you,
Jason,

Theres no better way than to open it and fix the Stucked iris!! You stored your camera for so long in the wrong side or not in standing position. Camera mechanism has oil and grease inside (that is the culprit why your iris is stucked), and will tend to settle in one spot if you will keep it not moving for a long time. But if you really want to fix without opening the unit try to use a black board with different size or adjustable center hole, this or these will serve as your camera iris, the brightest uses the smallest hole, experiment what suits you best.
